To be honest, the thing Yuki Gyakukai loved most in this life was watching women fight.
There was no other reason. He just found it really interesting.
But at that moment, Yuki Gyakukai was puzzled. He couldn't make heads or tails of it as he looked at Tomie beside him.
"You're just letting her go?"
Tomie Hanyu shot him a fierce glare, then pointed the water gun in her hand at Yuki Gyakukai's forehead and sprayed him again.
"What else do you want? For us to start fighting? It's late at night. Aren't we going back to sleep?"
Seeing that Tomie was in a bad mood, Yuki Gyakukai shrugged helplessly.
He'd only just managed to cheer Tomie up that afternoon, but now she was East Asian Vinegar King again.
"Come on, let's go. We'll head back for tonight. We can deal with the rest later."
He crooked a finger over his shoulder. His left hand was full of fishing gear, and he'd also taken the water gun from Tomie.
Then he came around in front of her and crouched down.
"Come on, climb on. I'll carry you. You had to run for a while back there, so you must be tired now."
"Hmph. You knew I'd have to run for a while, so why didn't you pull me up when you had the chance?"
Tomie sounded quite dissatisfied, but her body was honest as she climbed onto his broad back.
Her legs clamped tightly around Yusoku Gyakukai's waist, and her arms wrapped firmly around his neck.
"Cough, cough... Loosen up a little. Do you want your fiancé to die on the way back?"
"Whatever. It'd be for the best if you died. A dead fiancé is the best kind of fiancé."
Though she said that, Tomie obediently loosened her arms a little.
And so, Yuki Gyakukai's left hand was packed full, his not-too-heavy fiancée was on his back, and his right hand had to hold her to keep her from falling.
It looked like a lot to carry, but it was actually quite easy.
Thinking that he'd enjoyed another wonderful day, Yuki Gyakukai slowly made his way back to the dormitory.
Perhaps because it was dark, the school, which had been rather stuffy earlier, was now occasionally brushed by a breeze.
Normally, those breezes would have felt quite cool to other people.
But Tomie, lying on Yuki Gyakukai's back, felt the shirt beneath her was still damp and the wind blowing around them. For no reason she could explain, she felt a little guilty.
After all, it was because she'd been fooling around that her fiancé's clothes had gotten soaked.
Her earlier irritation faded considerably as guilt took its place.
But since she didn't have a change of clothes, Tomie couldn't think of a way to get Yuki Gyakukai into something dry.
So she simply buried her face against his neck and breathed out little puffs of warm air, trying to keep him from getting cold.
"Tomie, what are you doing?"
Noticing his fiancée's little movement and feeling the warm air she kept breathing against him, he couldn't help thinking she was kind of adorable.
"It's windy... I'm worried you'll get cold..."
Yuki Gyakukai was momentarily stunned. At first, he'd thought his fiancée was just playing a little prank on him.
As expected, Tomie was the cutest person in the world!
But...
"Tomie, are you cold? Sorry, I shouldn't have walked so slowly. I'll pick up the pace. We'll be back at the dorm in no time."
Yuki Gyakukai knew better than anyone whether he was cold.
But people had brains. From the way Tomie was acting, he'd already figured out why.
When you think I'm cold, I know that you're the one who's cold.
The two returned to the dormitory—or, more accurately, to Tomie's dorm room.
After taking a quick, hot shower together, they fell asleep in each other's arms...
As if.
Late at night, after finally defeating Tomie with his incredible stamina,
Yuki Gyakukai finally had some free time, so he sent Suzune Horikita Kikyou Kushida's contact information.
Read.
Suzune Horikita: ?
Yuki Gyakukai: ? Wait, you're still awake at this hour?
Suzune Horikita: Aren't you still awake too? I'm about to go to bed, though. Let me finish this save first.
Yuki Gyakukai: Suzune, you've changed. You weren't like this before.
Suzune Horikita: [Rolls eyes] None of your business.
Yuki Gyakukai: Fine. Go play your game, then. Remember to add Kikyou Kushida.
After sending his last message, Yuki Gyakukai tossed his phone aside.
He turned back to hug his cute, exhausted fiancée and drifted off to sleep.
What he didn't know was that, because of his influence that day, many people on the girls' floor were destined to stay awake.
Kikyou Kushida, hiding under her blanket, stared at the friend request on her phone and couldn't help feeling stunned.
She stared blankly at Suzune Horikita's friend request, never having imagined that
after a month of persistent friend requests, they would finally become friends today in such a surreal way.
But when she thought of everything that had happened that evening, her hands, hidden beneath the blanket, couldn't help grabbing at the short hair on top of her head, until she'd mussed it all up.
She felt like she'd done something incredibly stupid.
Why had she gone outside to blow off steam in the first place?
Wouldn't it have been better to stay in the dorm?
What was she supposed to do now?
Two more people knew what she was really like, and Suzune Horikita was a potential third.
"Ah! This is so annoying! It's all because of those idiots in my class. Otherwise, I wouldn't have wanted to find somewhere to blow off steam so soon!"
On the same floor,
Seeing that Suzune Horikita still hadn't accepted her friend request, Kikyou Kushida nonchalantly turned off her phone screen and tossed it aside.
It didn't matter to her whether Kikyou Kushida added her as a friend or not.
She turned back to the computer screen, clicking the mouse repeatedly.
Ever since she'd gotten a taste of what was on Yuki Gyakukai's computer the last time she was in his room, she'd copied his entire collection of files onto her own drive.
She'd try anything, whether it was wholesome or not, weird or not.
There was one game she wouldn't touch, though. She didn't even want to play it.
It was the one that had been sitting in the corner all this time, labeled "disturbing"—Reborn Lolita Island.
At the same time,
Amikura Asako was still tossing and turning on her bed.
Who knew what she was thinking about? Judging by her flushed face, she was as red as a cooked prawn.
Curled up, she covered her face with both hands and writhed around on the bed like a worm, her eyes occasionally darting toward the door.
"Strange. I already slipped the key card into Gyakukai's mailbox. If he wasn't coming, he could've at least sent me a message."
"Am I really that unattractive?"
"No... Amikura, what are you doing? You're Tomie's biggest fan. Why would you do something like this?"
"Help... I can't hold back anymore... Mm... As expected, Yuki-kun really is a succubus..."
Even though she'd already calmed down, she still couldn't stop her mind from wandering.
In the room not far away, Ichinose
hadn't been able to sleep tonight either. She sat quietly on her bed, staring blankly at the spare key card in her hand.
"Should I give it to him? Yuki Gyakukai's request... What a dilemma..."
"...If I give it to him, Tomie will be there, so they probably won't do anything lewd..."
Ichinose sounded a little uncertain.
The scene she'd witnessed last time couldn't help coming to mind.
"Yuki Gyakukai... seems to have an improper relationship with Morishita from Class B."
