Octopus Lady's Homemade Biscuits

Seabed Sanctuary.

A brownish-yellow, viscous drink, like mud slurry, bubbled and churned inside an exquisite teapot, giving off wisps of steam.

Hajiasha Lingfeng, a spirit ranger, and Nockte, a Spirit Clan Demon Hunter, sat on coral sofas opposite each other, both wearing strange expressions.

Their instincts were screaming, desperately telling them that they absolutely could not drink whatever was in that teapot!

Yet reason kept stressing that this was the Seabed Sanctuary, the private residence of Octopus Lady, the overlord of the domain!

As two Golden Boot Warriors who had caused trouble, they knew full well that being summoned alone by an overlord meant the situation was already very serious.

If they refused the tea as well, and made a negative comment or two...

their punishment would likely be increased!

So no matter how awful it tasted or how strange the texture was, they had to hold their noses and swallow every last drop!

Hajiasha and Nockte exchanged glances, each seeing the same resolve in the other's eyes.

Just then, a sticky, wet slapping sound came from their left.

Dressed in casual homewear, Octopus Lady placed a plate of small cookies on the coffee table before them.

She split her large mouth into a grin, revealing two rows of fine teeth.

"Don't be nervous, you two. I didn't call you here to hold you accountable. I merely wanted to learn more about what happened inside the Demon Domain at the time."

"The tea still needs to brew for a while. You can try some of the cookies I made first."

Perhaps recalling someone's wary reaction earlier, Octopus Lady immediately added, "Oh, right. I have no interest in spirit women or Spirit Clan people, so you may eat these cookies without worry."
