Early in the term, Lu Youyou publicly intervened when Jin Gang attacked Qin Yan over a classroom seat, easily defeating Jin Gang and drawing a challenge from his senior fellow disciple, Sun Kong. She explained their shared mentorship to Qin Yan, comparing their relationship to her own bond with him. 48 Lu Qingfeng subsequently intervened in her confrontation with Sun Kong, citing the prohibition on private fighting in classrooms and directing them to settle any challenge at the Martial Arena. 49

During the freshman Monthly Exams, Lu Youyou established herself among the academy's strongest students. After the warm-up encounter with Demon City Jiaotong University, Lu Youyou investigated Wen Ning's background. When Princess Anya later intervened in the incident involving Wen Ning, Lu Youyou wondered whether Qin Yan's friend possessed an undisclosed background capable of explaining such attention. 193

Lu Youyou nevertheless rejected the offer because accepting Qin Yan's material would compromise her martial heart and violate the principles Lu Zhen had taught her. 450

Behind her carefree manner, she is perceptive and sharp-minded. Xiao Wangshu recognizes that Lu Youyou's apparently innocent behavior conceals considerable intelligence, including her early sense that Qin Yan possessed unusual potential. 43 Her perceptiveness also extends to interpersonal matters, such as noticing Qin Yan's tacit exchange with Wen Ning and subtly blocking their line of sight. 140

Her early interest in Qin Yan is partly attributed to an innate instinct that he possesses an indescribable potential. This intuition encourages her to build a good relationship with him before the full extent of his abilities becomes apparent. 43

When Xiao Huo asks his disciples about Princess Anya's Hidden Dragon Assembly, Lu Youyou chooses not to participate. Her family judges the event too dangerous and believes the Lu Family's resources and direct guidance provide a more suitable path for her current development. 188

Zhenhai Battlefield Period

Lu Youyou and other students of the Sixth Academy are deployed to the Zhenhai Battlefield defense line near Magic Capital Martial University. After returning, she sees Qin Yan and Xiao Wangshu off when they depart for the battlefield. 374 391

Her deployment is specifically to the logistics division alongside Xiao Huo and other alchemy faculty and students. She explains that the sealed area beyond the wall near the Mystic Tower is the battlefield's core zone and that an undersea spatial passage connects their world to the Vast Sea Realm. 374

She also explains that the Dragon Whale Clan is a dominant race of that realm, although the enemy directly confronting the Zhenhai Defense Line is only one of its subordinate branches. Recalling a recent battlefield disturbance leaves her visibly shaken, while her explanation also reveals a firm warrior's resolve beneath her usual cheerful manner. 375
