"Where are we going now?"
He Yi watched as Silver Willow took out his phone again.
Come to think of it, ever since he had met Silver Willow, his phone no longer seemed to be in his own hands.
But He Yi only used his phone at work to communicate with his boss, clients, and colleagues. He was usually so busy that he did not even go online.
So it was probably better without his phone. Come to think of it, had he taken leave?
Just then, a call came in.
Silver Willow glanced at it and answered.
"He Yi! You don't want this job anymore? You actually didn't come to work?"
"You're this late, so I'm docking a day's pay. And forget about getting this month's full-attendance bonus."
He Yi let out a miserable cry and instinctively wailed, "No! Manager, something held me up. Wait for me, I'll be there right away."
Silver Willow looked at him as though he were some pitiful corporate slave.
"Get where? Do you know what time it is? The morning meeting's already over, and everyone's been busy all morning. It makes no difference whether you're here or not. You really don't want this job anymore?"
Sigh.
He Yi worked so hard. He clocked in every day and never dared to be late or leave early, all because he feared his boss would discover that the company could run just fine without him.
