Appearance

Black Dragon initially manifests as a colossal two-headed Realm Beast with scarlet eyes, black scales, bone wings, and a violent aura of Destruction. By the Sixth Stage, dark-gold armor-like scales cover his body and his wings have evolved into six pairs of black energy wings. 208 236

Personality

Before his enslavement, Black Dragon is arrogant, threatening Yan Ning with the arrival of other Realm Beast experts and attempting to resist even at the cost of self-destruction. The Chaos Bell prevents that final act of defiance, and the Soul Imprint forcibly establishes his submission. 208

As Yan Ning's servant, he becomes intensely loyal, deferential, and eager to prove his usefulness. He is highly warlike and takes visible pleasure in hunting weaker Realm Beasts, but he also develops greater intelligence and restraint as his realm rises. 225 236 281

Yan Ning finds Black Dragon injured after seventeen days in the Dim Land, suppresses him with the Chaos Bell, and escapes before other Realm Beasts can intervene. Black Dragon is then forcibly enslaved through the Soul Imprint and becomes Yan Ning's first battle general. 207 208

Devouring the Cosmic Sea

After recovering, Black Dragon consumes the origins of True Gods' Miniature Universes to regain power. He kills Shi Cheng Ancestor, overwhelms Blood Prison True God, and helps create a widespread panic over the return of Realm Beasts. 209 211 212

Purge of the Dim Land

Yan Ning returns Black Dragon to the Realm Beast Nest and systematically eliminates rival Realm Beasts. Black Dragon grows by devouring captured enemies, kills Bedi and Yuan Mo, reaches the Sixth Stage, and uses Myriad Avatars to aid the final purge. 221 223 234 237
