Gulanxiu hurriedly said, "Brother Liu, please speak freely!"

Liu Qingyuan nodded. "My Liu Family has been in business for tens of thousands of years, and we've accumulated quite a fortune. I can tell at a glance that Brother Jia is an honest man. I'm willing to give you half of our assets in exchange for protecting my family for ten thousand years after I die.

"If Jiang'er and Li'er still haven't broken through to the Domain Level after ten thousand years, then take them to another world. But if either of them manages to break through to the Domain Level within that time, you'll be free to leave whenever you wish. How does that sound?"

Gulanxiu fell silent at Liu Qingyuan's offer. In all honesty, the terms were quite generous. Ten thousand years was only one percent of a Domain Lord's lifespan. Besides, Gulanxiu was posing as an ascetic cultivator, and he could cultivate anywhere.

Liu Qingyuan let out a long sigh. "Brother Jia, you truly are an honest man. So be it! I'll give up this vast fortune of mine entirely. In a while, I'll take my family to Maple Leaf World and let Li'er and Jiang'er live ordinary lives."

Gulanxiu silently approved. Liu Qingyuan wasn't dying suddenly; he still had plenty of time to make arrangements. He hadn't wasted the past thousand years, either. He'd prepared several escape routes for his children, and Gulanxiu's unexpected appearance had simply given him another option.

Liu Qingyuan continued, "Brother Jia, when I was young, I traveled from world to world just like you. I've been to the dangerous Blood Demon Sea, the Forbidden Mountains, and the Ancient God Ruins. I came across quite an opportunity in the Ancient God Ruins, but I wasn't strong enough to claim it. I could only look on helplessly!"

Gulanxiu's interest was piqued, but he said nothing. Since Liu Qingyuan had brought it up, there was surely more to the story.

Sure enough, Liu Qingyuan went on, "I know you have great ambitions, Brother Jia, and that your future achievements will be extraordinary. You won't be content to stay in one city or territory. Gulanxiu knew Liu Qingyuan must have lost, or he wouldn't have asked. After all, it was perfectly normal for a Domain Lord to defeat a Cosmic Level cultivator; the reverse would be the surprising outcome. Still, Gulanxiu played along. "How did it turn out?"

Liu Qingyuan continued, "I lost that battle, and there was no suspense about it. Although they were only at the Cloud Soaring Level, both of them had grasped a trace of a Law. With the Law empowering them, I, having only just entered the Domain Level, was no match for them. If the Baleful Qi hadn't suddenly erupted, I would probably have died there!"

Gulanxiu knew there was more to the story, so he asked, "What happened after that?"

Liu Qingyuan went on, "The Baleful Qi suddenly erupted for some unknown reason. The Baleful Qi in an area that had been relatively stable suddenly grew much denser! I took the opportunity to slip into a small Baleful Qi Vortex.

"They thought it was too dangerous and didn't follow me. But I unexpectedly discovered that the Baleful Qi inside the vortex wasn't all that strong. So I made my way through the areas where it was thinner, and vaguely spotted the corpse of an Immortal God through a crack in the ground!"

"A God Corpse? Are you sure?" Gulanxiu asked in surprise. An Immortal God's Divine Body had become completely energy-based. Generally speaking, even if one died, no God Corpse would remain—unless a soul expert had directly annihilated them!

Liu Qingyuan nodded. "I'm sure! The corpse of a World Level expert couldn't possibly survive for so long in a Baleful Qi Vortex. That corpse looked lifelike, so it must have been a God Corpse! I suspect it was left behind by the great battle from countless years ago."

"Then why didn't you take the God Corpse?" Gulanxiu asked curiously. An intact God Corpse was a treasure. You could at least smash it apart and get a pile of Divine Crystals. And since it was an intact corpse, it was likely carrying storage equipment, possibly containing everything an Immortal God had collected over a lifetime.

Liu Qingyuan smiled bitterly. "If I could have taken it, I definitely would have! But for some reason, the Baleful Qi within a thousand meters of the God Corpse was so dense that I couldn't get near it. Can you imagine how painful it is to have a treasure within arm's reach and still be unable to get it?"

Gulanxiu thought about it, then nodded. It did sound frustrating.

Ten thousand years ago, after I reached Domain Level Five, I went back, but I still couldn't get near it. I figure you'd need to reach at least World Level to approach the God Corpse. Unfortunately, I'll never get the chance now!"

Gulanxiu was silent for a moment after hearing Liu Qingyuan's words. "You're going to tell me where the God Corpse is?"

Liu Qingyuan nodded and took a map from his spatial storage. "This is a map I drew. The red mark shows where the God Corpse is. Its location is well hidden, but ten thousand years have passed, and I can't be sure it's still there. You'll have to go to the Ancient God Ruins to fuse multiple Bloodfall Crystals anyway. If you're strong enough, you can look for it while you're there!"
