Today, this book officially went premium.

When I started writing this book, I was actually quite lost. I submitted several openings to Ziliang in a row, and he shot them all down with just a few questions.

Ever since I entered the industry, I'd basically always written fantasy settings.

After achieving some results, the best choice would have been to stick with the same genre for a new book. That would have been the safest approach.

But I'd written fantasy settings for too long, and I truly wanted to make a change.

My editor also felt that I could change and try more things.

And so this book came about. The genre changed, and so did the protagonist's character setup.

He was no longer a young man, but a protagonist gradually stepping into middle age.

After I started writing it, its ranking actually exceeded my expectations. Things went very smoothly.

It ranked fourth in the fantasy category. I'd never ranked anywhere near that high before.

But my writing progress was nowhere near as fast as it used to be.

I needed to think more carefully, and my writing speed immediately slowed down.

After it goes premium, I can only spend more time sitting in front of the computer. Even if I get stuck, I'll have to keep moving forward.

Once I get past a few hurdles, things should start flowing more smoothly.

As for my expectations for this book, I'm actually fairly confident.

My last three books all started low, then steadily improved. For two of them, their average subscriptions ended up ten times their first-day subscriptions.

Experiences like that have truly made me much steadier as a writer.
