Yan Chihuo followed Mingyu to a residence that looked quite imposing. Mingyu said, "First General, this is your residence. Among all the generals, yours is the closest to the prince's, alongside the Dao Integration Stage marquises." With that, she led Yan Chihuo inside.
Yan Chihuo frowned slightly, unable to understand Heaven's End King's ranking of offices. In the mortal world, a general was an official post, while a marquis was a noble title. Why had they all been mixed together?
So he asked, "May I ask, Fairy Mingyu, how are the positions here ranked?"
Mingyu replied, "Naturally, positions are ranked according to cultivation, though those valued by the prince are always regarded more favorably. First come the Spirit Cultivation Stage seniors. They are all called Grand Commandants, and there are eight Grand Commandants in total. Next are the Dao Integration Stage seniors, called marquises; there are twenty-four of them. Then come those at the Origin Core Stage and Tribulation Stage, all called generals. There are one hundred and eight generals altogether. The rest hold no official position. Thirty-six are at the Origin Core Stage, and seventy-two are at the Tribulation Stage. There are also chief stewards, commanding generals, and the like, likewise all Origin Core Stage or Tribulation Stage cultivators, though most Tribulation Stage cultivators hold no office."
Yan Chihuo secretly shook his head. Heaven's End King only half understood human official ranks—what an utter laughingstock. Mingyu then said, "General, you have twelve subordinates here."
After saying this, she clapped her hands. Six men and six women emerged from the residence. The men looked exceptionally vicious, while the women were breathtakingly beautiful. They were all Rakshasas.
Mingyu said, "General, these twelve are all at your command. But you have only just arrived and likely do not yet know their temperaments.
