The pit had been dug deep, and the light grew dimmer and dimmer. Chen Fan sank several dozen meters before landing. With a sweep of his palm, he released a wisp of pill fire, illuminating the surroundings brightly.
This was also a divine ability unique to those who had condensed a Golden Core. Cultivators generally used it for pill refining and artifact forging, but it consumed an immense amount of true essence. Yet the true essence within Chen Fan's body was vast and surging; such expenditure was no more than a drop in the ocean to him!
Yet after landing, Chen Fan could no longer detect the fat cultivator's aura with his Divine Sense. He had completely vanished from its range. At the end of the passage, however, there was a faint glimmer of light, as though it led to another stone chamber.
Chen Fan frowned slightly. His figure flickered, vanishing from where he stood before reappearing inside that stone chamber. Only then did he realize that the fat cultivator had indeed fled, for there were at least three doors in the chamber, each leading who knew where.
Within the enormous stone chamber, only a small cauldron and a sheet of paper remained, seemingly left behind by the fat cultivator.
He stepped forward and picked up the paper. A few crookedly scrawled words were written on it:
"Limitless Heavenly Venerable, the true ancient treasure blood is in this cauldron, a gift for one fated to receive it. You've cultivated the Nine Palaces Sword Art quite well. Also, do not seek this humble Daoist again. If fate wills it, we shall meet again."
"So it really was you!" Chen Fan crumpled the paper into a ball and stored it in his Storage Ring.
His gaze then fell upon the small cauldron.
