They had dropped a child not yet six years old into Heavens Arena with one condition: he could only go home after reaching the 200th floor.
That was how the Zoldyck Family trained its heir.
Killua was going through it now.
But Silva had not left Killua entirely on his own. After returning to Kukuroo Mountain, he had sent Tsubone, the butler he trusted most, to Heavens Arena to protect Killua in secret.
"Young Master Killua, you still have a long way to go."
Tsubone watched calmly as Killua lay unconscious in the ring.
Her duty was to protect Killua from the shadows, not to interfere with his climb through Heavens Arena.
Tsubone had watched Killua grow during this time.
Starting with yesterday's fight, which had earned Killua a promotion to the 60th floor, Tsubone could see that he had fully adapted to Heavens Arena and learned how to defeat opponents in the ring.
And so, Tsubone believed...
Barring any surprises, Young Master Killua should be able to keep winning until he reached the next major hurdle.
She had not expected—
Just as Killua had learned how to "win easily" in the ring and was ready to take on a new future, he had run into the most unfavorable opponent he could have faced on the entire 60th floor.
It was rotten luck.
"Don't worry, Young Master Killua."
Tsubone murmured so softly she could barely be heard. "Luck can only hold you back for a while."
In Tsubone's eyes, Killua truly had been unlucky.
If he had not run into that "Illumi," Killua would probably have won two matches with ease today.
She only hoped this fight, over in mere moments, would not throw off Young Master Killua's thinking—or, worse, make him set his sights on something beyond his reach.
