The changes in the Cat-girls had not gone unnoticed by the Fox-girls and Rabbit-girls in camp.
They had given Medivh intelligence about the Ancient Battlefield, but it was far from Armory Camp, and Medivh had no plans to go explore it just yet.
"Hehe, the sunshine is so lovely today!"
The morning after they finished excavating the Ancient Battlefield, Audrey rubbed her eyes and grinned at the warm sunlight shining through the window of Medivh's room.
Back at camp, Medivh was in a very good mood. He gave Audrey, who had been wandering around in front of him again, a good scolding.
Medivh kept his promises, and Audrey happily got to enjoy her first big feast.
With her dream come true, Audrey playfully nuzzled against Medivh like a lazy little cat basking in the sun.
Medivh woke up at her antics and met her gaze. Smiling, he stretched and got up to tidy himself.
After balancing work and rest and enjoying some pleasant relaxation, Medivh focused once more on crafting skeleton parts and bringing the Time Skeleton back to life.
Audrey was considerate and didn't disturb him while he worked.
After finishing her daily training, she put on her armor, mounted her horse, and patrolled the camp.
"Good morning, Sister Suixiang!"
When she came across Suixiang, Audrey dismounted and greeted her. A barely concealed smugness shone in her eyes.
Medivh had taken her first. That was the greatest recognition of her status.
Suixiang and Suixin had been very proactive lately, but Medivh had only indulged himself with them to unwind. He had taken the most important step with Audrey first.
From now on, no matter who managed to win Medivh's favor, they would have to call her "big sister" to her face.
"Good day, Sister Audrey!"
Hearing the unfamiliar form of address, Suixiang froze for a moment, then replied delightedly.
She had taken part in the excavation the previous night and had watched Audrey being taken away by Medivh. She knew that the Guardian Knight, who had been at Medivh's side from the start, was especially beloved.
Audrey's standing in camp was beyond question.
Audrey's new way of addressing her meant she accepted Suixiang as a maidservant and was encouraging her to serve Medivh boldly.
While Audrey gave the Cat-girls a lesson, Medivh busied himself crafting skeleton parts.
He first worked on the Spirit Cat-person bones that seemed to belong to Spirit Rune Warriors, hoping to create more Spirit Cat Skeleton Warriors.
The Spirit Cat Skeleton Warriors had only just been resurrected and were not yet even at the first rank. But once their Inheritance Spirit Rune was completed, they would cross the final threshold and effectively become first-rank warriors.
Over the next half month, Medivh smelted a large number of Spirit Cat-person bones, using the resulting skeleton parts to assemble and resurrect five Spirit Cat Warriors and one Spirit Cat Warlock.
This batch of Spirit Cat Warriors and the Spirit Cat Warlock further completed the Spirit Cat Race's Inheritance Spirit Rune.
The number of Spirit Cat Combat Techniques increased from six to nine, and the Spirit Cat Warlock's inheritance became richer.
After completing their Inheritance Spirit Runes, the five Spirit Cat Warriors successfully advanced to the first-rank beginner level, adding several more powerful fighters to Armory Camp.
As well as assembling and resurrecting Spirit Cat Skeletons, Medivh also used the skeleton parts he had crafted from ordinary Spirit Cat-person bones.
Armory Camp gained thirty-six Green Bone Skeletons, all of them combat types: warriors, rangers, and assassins.
Everything was going well at Armory Camp now. The urgency Medivh had felt when he first arrived in the Odyssey Region had faded.
While crafting skeleton parts and resurrecting skeletons, Medivh didn't mind doing a little something to relax.
Sometimes Audrey helped him unwind, sometimes Suixiang and Suixin did, and sometimes it was the affectionate little cat, Suihua.
"Suihua, what's the meaning behind this bell?"
That day, Medivh curiously asked as he toyed with the tiny Golden Bell tied around Suihua's neck.
The bell had been ringing out just now, drawing him in until he couldn't help but pick up the pace.
"Suixiang gave it to me. When I was little, I loved running off to play, and Suixiang worried I'd get lost and wouldn't find my way home. So she tied a bell around my neck. That way, she could find me whenever she heard it ring."
Suihua spoke warmly about the bell's origins. It was a testament to the deep bond between the sisters.
The Slave Hunter Group had only captured her at first. Suixiang had been captured because she followed the bell's sound to find her.
Suixiang was always trying to shield her. Glancing at Suixiang, who had fallen asleep from exhaustion, Suihua smiled and narrowed her eyes.
Suixiang really was a fool. Sometimes, Suihua didn't need protecting.
"I see."
Medivh listened patiently to their story. By the time Suihua finished, he had rested enough.
He didn't continue teasing the affectionate little cat. Instead, he stretched and went to inspect the camp's construction.
With more than three hundred skeletons working without rest, Armory Camp was being built at an astonishing pace.
More than seventy percent of the outer double-fortress buildings in the square-block layout of the Armory District had been completed.
In a few more days, construction in the Armory District would be finished.
The Residential District would be put off for now. Once the Armory District was done, they would build the Wall District, enclosing Armory Camp behind high walls.
"We still don't have enough manpower!"
Medivh wasn't satisfied with the camp's construction speed.
There were now twelve first-rank skeletons. Along with Medivh and Audrey, four Transcendental Skeletons below the first rank, and several hundred ordinary skeletons, the camp had enough fighting strength.
He planned to focus first on making a batch of Grey Bone and White Bone Skeletons for construction, so they could finish the first large block as soon as possible.
He had to focus on both military strength and development. Once the first urban district was built, he could enclose land and develop agriculture and animal husbandry.
The Time Skeleton could grow, and Magic Beast Blood was currently known to have a tremendous effect on its advancement to the Transcendent level.
Once he had enclosed several Resource Districts, he could raise Magic Beasts in the surrounding fortresses.
He could also grow crops for food and raise cattle and sheep for meat.
And besides Magic Beasts, bones could be cultivated too.
In his previous life, Medivh had been an archaeologist, so he knew a thing or two about preserving remains properly.
The bandits and foreign races he had killed over the past six months had all been properly buried in designated areas.
Medivh didn't waste materials. Those fresh corpses, buried in the earth, would gain historical value after a few years.

Those bones could be Grey Bone or White Bone, Green Bone or Blue Bone, Purple Bone, or even higher grades.
With his goal set, Medivh devoted himself completely to crafting Grey Bone and White Bone Skeletons.
With the mana of a Senior Mage Apprentice, crafting dozens of Grey Bone and White Bone Skeletons in a day was no problem.
The number of ordinary skeletons in Armory Camp increased day by day.
On the fifth day of Medivh's intense crafting, the outer double-fortress buildings of the Armory District joined up, enclosing the Castle District within two layers of walls and making it much safer.
The expanded brickworks ran day and night, producing large bricks for building the walls.
The ordinary skeletons who had completed construction in the Armory District didn't stop to rest. They went straight to the Wall District to dig the foundations.
Medivh had already drawn up the plans. The skeletons only needed to follow his blueprints and work faithfully.
