He left the underground workshop and climbed the steps all the way to the top floor of Tower No. 1.
He stood on the terrace, looking down over Kurd's development during this time.
The walls around the second ring of the Nine-Grid District had already reached five meters in some places and three meters in others, enclosing all of Kurd's logistics and economic districts.
It was currently the busy farming season in Kurd. Logistics Skeletons and Cat-men were harvesting crops such as wheat, potatoes, and corn from the farmland in each Nine-Grid District.
Crops with longer growing cycles, such as rice and cotton, would be ready for harvest over the next month or two.
Grain, melons, fruits, and vegetables were transported by the cartload from the farmland to the city. Some were kept fresh for daily consumption over the coming days.
Others were dried for storage or processed into products that were easier to preserve.
Beneath Kurd City, there were plenty of freezer warehouses maintained by Frost Skeleton Mages. The Workshop District had all kinds of food-processing factories designed by Medivh, so keeping food fresh was no problem.
Kurd had no trouble being self-sufficient. Its food was plentiful and varied, with all kinds of staple foods, fruits, and vegetables, as well as fish and various meats.
The Cat-men digging potatoes in the fields wore happy expressions. They had never imagined they would one day have enough to eat—and eat so well. The average height of the younger generation of Cat-men had risen considerably.
It had been nearly half a year since the Spirit Cat Tribe had migrated here, and its population had grown substantially.
As for the skeletons, every month a few
