"Lord Medivh, we couldn't find any other bones belonging to the Necromancer."
After discovering the Necromancer's skull on a trophy rack in the old Dragonblood Sorcerer's burial chamber, Medivh had ordered some skeletons to search the Kobold mines for the Necromancer's other bones.
They also searched for the remains of the bodies that belonged to the other trophy skulls.
A month passed, but they found nothing.
"What a terrible habit!"
Medivh lamented with a helpless sigh.
It was a bad habit of the Kobolds. They cut off the heads of powerful opponents, dried them, and kept them as trophies, while discarding the bulkier torsos.
Quite a few skulls of powerful creatures had been found in the Kobolds' Ancestral Graveyard. They were trophies taken by Kobold warriors over the years.
Unfortunately, they hadn't been able to find the bodies that belonged to any of the skulls. A skull alone was useless to Medivh.
In truth, the Kobolds' deeds had been even worse. They hadn't discarded the bodies—they had pulverized them for fertilizer. Medivh had no way to recover the other bones.
A single set of remains wasn't enough to forge and revive a necromantic skeleton, but Medivh didn't dwell on it. He told the skeletons to continue their construction work as planned and collect the bones scattered across the surface.
Rumble...
Beginning at noon on June 9, thunder rolled incessantly across Odyssey.
"The rainy season's arrived much earlier than usual this year!"
The thunder caught Medivh's attention. He set down the magic tome in his hands and went to the balcony to gaze into the distance.
In the previous two years, the rainy season had begun after June 15. This year it had come early. June's first ten days weren't even over, and the thunder had arrived with the rain clouds.
