The inner and outer sides of each ring of Nine-Grid Districts were linked by Sky Corridors and gates, forming a closed wall.

Outsiders could only enter Kurd City by climbing over the walls.

Little Cat carried a food box, put on a straw raincoat, and held her mother's hand tightly as they walked out through the north gate of District No. 4.

They followed the main road east for a little over a kilometer and a half, passed through the gate separating the first and second rings of Nine-Grid Districts, and entered District No. 13 in the second ring.

They continued south for a little over three kilometers, reaching the eastern wall of District No. 13, which was also the easternmost wall of Kurd City.

The walls of the second ring weren't tall, only five meters high, but they were exceptionally thick—sixteen meters across.

Medivh didn't want to draw attention, so he hadn't built up Kurd City's outer walls. Making them thicker, however, wasn't a problem.

Since the expansion had stopped, all of Kurd City's walls had been undergoing reinforcement.
