Medivh had grown used to thug attacks. He never even stepped out of his room, calmly assembling skeletons throughout the entire affair.
After burying the corpses, the skeletons returned to their posts and continued silently constructing the Armory Camp.
The rainy season was the calm before the storm. As soon as the weather cleared, the Odyssey Region entered a phase of bloodshed.
Having gone hungry for over half a month, the Thug Gangs and Alien Tribes grew even more frenzied in their raids.
Over the next half month, Medivh's camp suffered two more thug attacks and one Goblin tribe attack.
That hardly counted as a string of disasters. It was simply the usual rhythm of chaos in the Odyssey Region.
None of those three attacks caused any losses to the camp. The skeletons were sturdy and durable, and with Bone Spirit Warriors stationed there, Medivh did not need to intervene.
Transcendents were not weeds by the roadside, available in abundance.
Other than the Transcendental Murlocs during the rainy season, Medivh had not encountered any other Transcendents.
After half a month, Medivh's camp had changed greatly.
In the five-by-four section, the ninety-meter row of connected Armory Camps had been completed.
In the four-by-five section, the connected Armory Camps had reached fifty meters in length.
In the four-by-four section stood a twenty-meter stretch of horizontal, back-to-back two-story Fort Towers.
Only the perimeter of the Castle District would have Armory Camps. The other areas would all use these Fort Towers.
That stretch of Fort Towers spanned the street and connected through the air to the Fort Towers in the other two sections, forming a Sky Corridor.
The Fort Towers in the three sections connected together into an integrated city wall, allowing Skeleton Hunters to fire from between the battlements.
Beneath the Sky Corridor was an entrance passage, with an iron-bound wooden gate installed in its center.
The northwest corner of the camp had already been sealed off.
Skeletons that worked around the clock really were useful. Their construction efficiency was incredible.
Over the past half month, the camp had gained quite a few skeletons.
There were fifteen Bone Farmers, six Bone Hunters, and one Bone Warrior.
There were twenty-three Green Bone Farmers, three Green Bone Hunters, and eleven Green Bone Warriors.
There was one Green Bone Blacksmith, one Green Bone Butcher, and one Green Bone Chef.
There was one Green Bone Spirit Warrior.
Over the past half month or so, the camp had added nineteen skeletons.
As Medivh's spiritual power improved and he accumulated more and more skeletal parts, his speed of creating skeletons increased.
Of the eleven Green Bone Warriors, Medivh had high hopes for two.
They had both been assembled from Green Bone parts over two hundred and fifty years old, and they had a chance of awakening Bone Spirit Power and stepping into the Transcendent realm.
Medivh had stored away all the skeletal remains that were over two hundred and ninety-five years old but less than three hundred years old.
The gap between Green Bone and Blue Bone parts was surely enormous. He could afford to wait a few years.
"Medivh, where are you going so early in the morning?"
A few days later, Audrey saw Medivh gather all the Green Bone Warriors and asked curiously.
"Hunting!"
Medivh's eyes gleamed with excitement.
The Skeleton Hunters who had gone out hunting before dawn had discovered a low-level, first-tier Magic Beast. It was excellent prey.
Magic Beast flesh and blood was high-energy nourishment and an exceptional supplement for cultivating Battle Qi.
Medivh had no offensive spells, so he needed to improve his Battle Qi and strengthen his combat power.
"Wait for me!"
Audrey became excited as well. She shouted and ran to her room to put on her armor.
If they successfully hunted this Magic Beast, she would be able to eat some of its meat to her heart's content and surely break through her bottleneck, refining blood into qi.
The Skeleton Hunters had discovered a Cold-Horned Deer. Magic Beasts had keen senses, and it awoke as soon as the Green Bone Warriors approached.
Trapped inside the cave, the Cold-Horned Deer was furious. Ice spikes gathered on its sharp antlers and shot toward the Green Bone Warriors.
A Green Bone Warrior raised its shield to block. An ice spike struck it, smashing a notch into the Bone Shield.
Cold air spread outward, coating the Green Bone Warrior's shield arm in ice and slowing its movements.
As that Green Bone Warrior was frozen, the Green Bone Warriors behind it moved up and took the second ice spike.
Medivh's plan was clear. He was using the Green Bone Warriors to drain the Cold-Horned Deer's magic power.
The Green Bone Warriors took turns enduring the damage, so they would not easily be destroyed.
After releasing seven or eight ice spikes, the Cold-Horned Deer's antlers no longer swirled with cold air as they had before. It had clearly consumed a great deal of magic power.
Seeing that not a single Green Bone Warrior had died, the Cold-Horned Deer grew anxious.
It pawed the ground with its hind hooves, lowered its head, and charged, intending to smash apart the frozen Green Bone Warrior.
Bang!
A dull impact rang out. The Bone Spirit Warrior struck when it was needed, smashing its shield into the side of the Cold-Horned Deer's face.
Dazed by the shield blow, the Cold-Horned Deer instinctively unleashed all its magic power. Cold air burst outward, restraining the Bone Spirit Warrior.
"Now!"
Medivh seized the opportunity. During the gap after the Cold-Horned Deer had finished casting, he rushed forward and carved a deep wound into its right foreleg.
The unfrozen Green Bone Warriors surged forward, hacking at the Cold-Horned Deer without regard for the cost.
The Cold-Horned Deer cried out in pain and rammed the Green Bone Warriors.
A Green Bone Warrior raised its shield to block, but it was still sent flying by the Cold-Horned Deer.
While it was rampaging, Medivh found another opening. As it rammed a Green Bone Warrior, he left several more wounds on it.
Pain filled the Cold-Horned Deer's eyes with bloodshot veins. It locked onto Medivh and chased after him.
Medivh was completely unafraid. Without magic power, the Cold-Horned Deer was far less threatening.
From time to time, he controlled a Green Bone Warrior to block for him. Whenever one was sent flying, he struck the Cold-Horned Deer from the side with his sword.
Under Medivh's teasing, the Cold-Horned Deer grew weaker and weaker.
Once the Bone Spirit Warrior broke free from the cold air's effects, the battle no longer held any suspense. The Cold-Horned Deer died beneath blades and swords.
"Hmm?"
Medivh noticed that the Green Bone Warriors were automatically absorbing the Cold-Horned Deer blood splashed across their bone bodies, and he fell into thought.
He used mana to draw in the scattered Magic Beast blood, enveloping the two strongest Green Bone Warriors.
Within the blood mist, Transcendent auras emerged. After absorbing the Magic Beast blood, the two Green Bone Warriors awakened Bone Spirit Power.
"Beautiful!"
Medivh was overjoyed to gain two new Transcendent subordinates.
As expected, every part of a Magic Beast was valuable. Blood containing magic power could promote a skeleton's awakening of Bone Spirit Power.
That had not happened when he killed the Transcendental Murlocs before.
Clearly, not all blood was suitable for skeletons to absorb.
The Green Bone Warriors that had blocked the charge had suffered severe bone fractures, so Medivh distributed the remaining Magic Beast blood to them.
After absorbing the Magic Beast blood, the severely injured Green Bone Warriors recovered and carried the Cold-Horned Deer back to camp.
Medivh personally wielded the blade and removed the hide and antlers.
Using the Cold-Horned Deer's Magic Core as a refrigerator, he froze the butchered chunks of meat and bones.
At noon that day, Medivh stewed a pot of meat. Audrey waited beside the stove for him to call everyone to eat.
After filling himself, Medivh took time to cultivate the Breathing Technique and improve his Battle Qi, wasting not a trace of blood qi.
Magic Beast meat was the finest blood nourishment. In only a week, Medivh, who had remained at low-level first tier for a long time, advanced further and became a mid-level first-tier knight.
Audrey successfully refined blood into qi, stepped into the Transcendent realm, and became a low-level first-tier knight.
After a week, the chunks of Magic Beast meat had been eaten clean. Only meaty bones and offal remained, which they regularly boiled into soup.
Battle Qi was merely one means of increasing strength. Medivh's main focus still remained on the mage path.
That week, aside from cultivating Battle Qi, he did not slack off for even a moment in meditation or refining skeletal parts.
He even turned down Audrey's passionate invitation when she advanced to knight.
