Ch. 521It Was All the Result of Hard Work

The Wrynn Alliance guarded its territory and chose which allies could share in the opportunities to ascend to godhood. As several allies advanced, Hestia and Medivh welcomed a daughter, while the chapter ended with the Azure Wave Dragon Clan celebrating Hathaway’s impending ascension.

  • Medivh rejected Star Alliance factions seeking to join the Wrynn Alliance and share in the Iron Arm Realm.
  • With Luna and Medivh’s support, Fairy Dragon Mengli ascended as a Lower God and became guardian of the souls of the Myconids and Wrynn Territory.
  • Hestia visited Medivh regularly to ask him to help the Fire-Praying Church secure an Origin Plane, and he promised that the Skyfire Plane’s advancement was in progress.
  • Hestia gave birth to Annie, whose teddy bear was her Holy Remains power and could transform into the blazing giant bear Tibbers.
  • Vesta gained a divine spark, became Vesta, Goddess of the Bonfire, and celebrated her ascension with a bonfire dance attended by Medivh and the Fire-Praying goddesses.
  • The Dragon Rank dragons congratulated Som on the Azure Wave Dragon Clan’s coming second Dragon Rank dragon, and Som credited the opportunity to his daughter Hathaway’s hard work.

Ch. 522The Makeshift Alliance

Medivh watched the Iron Arm Realm’s allies gain wealth and ascend toward godhood, while a naturally evolved Origin Plane triggered a struggle that exposed the Star Alliance’s weakness. After Abyssal Demon Gods exploited the infighting and a newly ascended god was abandoned in the Plane Graveyard, the Star Alliance fractured into rival camps.

  • Medivh rewarded his close allies, including Hathaway and Hai Wenxiang, while the Frost Dragon King Sapphiron and Reinhardt expected their daughters’ success to benefit them.
  • The Iron Arm Realm produced several God Rank Angels, and Hai Wenxiang and Hai Xiangling represented the East Sea Scale-men as they approached godhood.
  • In November of the five hundred and ninety-sixth year of the Wrynn Era, a Twelfth Rank Legendary Plane naturally evolved into an Origin Plane, drawing gods and Upper Legendary powerhouses to compete for ascension.
  • Disguised Abyssal Demon Gods provoked a battle among Star Alliance factions, opened a gateway for an attack, and killed a god before the alliance could respond.
  • The Star Alliance asked the Light Alliance to mediate and divided the ascension opportunities between the plane’s native factions and the Star Alliance, but its influence and unity weakened.
  • A few years later, Star Alliance factions delayed rescuing a newly ascended god in the Plane Graveyard, who was hunted down by an Abyssal Demon God, and the alliance split into rival camps.

Ch. 523A Grand Reconciliation of the Century

The Star Alliance fractured over control of the Origin Plane, and conflict spread as Star Sea factions and Abyssal Demons formed shifting alliances. When a coalition attacked the Sam Plane, Medivh and the Light Alliance crushed its advance and reaffirmed that the Light Alliance remained a force no one could provoke lightly.

  • The Star Alliance broke into rival factions, and the Abyssal Demons also splintered as both sides turned to skirmishes and shifting alliances.
  • Moon Goddess Selene concluded that her sister, the Goddess of Light, had foreseen the chaos and let the Star Sea’s inhabitants decide their own order.
  • In mid-March of the year 605 of Wrynn, Medivh watched factions from the Star Sea and the Primal Abyss fight former allies and hire themselves out across the divide.
  • A coalition of Star Sea factions and Abyssal Demons targeted the Sam Plane, prompting Medivh to summon the Wrynn Alliance’s God Rank powerhouses and prepare an ambush.
  • The coalition scattered after two Thirteenth Rank Lower Gods tested the Sam Plane’s defenses, and both were killed as examples.
  • The invaders recognized that the Sam Plane’s defenders belonged to the Light Alliance, which remained powerful despite staying out of worldly affairs.

Ch. 524Rotten to the Core: The Star Sea's Myriad Races

Medivh watched the Star Sea descend into a fifty-year struggle in which its rulers sold out ordinary people and carved the planes into spheres of influence, while the Light Alliance protected only those who still welcomed it. During that time, Medivh and the Holy Remains Plane grew stronger, leaving the Wrynn Alliance with a vast force of Bone Spirits and skeletons.

  • The Abyssal Demons and Star Sea races withdrew from the Sam Plane, and no God Rank powerhouses dared to harass the Wrynn Alliance after Medivh's warning.
  • Star Sea Gods and other rulers sold their vassal races to the Abyssal Demons, while the Light Alliance refused to intervene in planes that had rejected the Church of Light.
  • After fifty years of turmoil, the Star Sea stabilized under God Rank rulers who divided it into separate spheres of influence.
  • The Iron Arm Realm gained six Thirteenth Rank Lower Gods, and the Holy Remains Plane gained the Goddess of the Styx, Styx, while You Mikuang, Medivh, and his two Bone Spirit Substitutes advanced to Thirteenth Rank.
  • Medivh's advancement produced three thousand Bone Spirit Substitutes, bringing his total to 4,680 and giving the Wrynn Alliance the capacity to produce up to 1.5 billion skeletons a year.

Ch. 525Valorant Project

After Satena ascended as the Goddess of Gama, Medivh accepted the Valoran Divine Alliance’s invitation to join an expedition to the Plane Graveyard. He sent a powerful force led by his Bone Spirit Substitute and You Mikuang, keeping himself safely behind the scenes as the army gathered in Valoran Plane.

  • Satena ascended to godhood in the Holy Remains Plane and took the title Goddess of Gama after her birthplace, Gamma Plane.
  • News of Satena’s ascension spread through Gamma Plane and the Odyssey City-State, prompting envy among Legendary Knights and attention from the Gewalt Federation’s neighbors.
  • The Valoran Divine Alliance approved an expedition to the Thirteenth Abyss World in the Plane Graveyard to establish a Valoran colonial settlement.
  • Duke Osman invited Medivh to join the Valoran Project, and Medivh agreed to send troops.
  • Medivh dispatched a Low-Grade Gold Bone Bone Spirit Substitute and the Holy Remains Monarch You Mikuang to Valoran Plane instead of risking his own life.
  • God Rank powerhouses in Valoran Plane marveled at the Wrynn Family’s expeditionary force, whose soldiers were all Seventh Rank or higher.

Ch. 526This Is Nature

Valoran’s expeditionary forces entered the Thirteenth Layer of the Abyss and established forward bases to attack the Abyssal Demons. The Myconids transformed their assigned region into a thriving Spore World, while the Abyssal Overlords grew alarmed by the arrival of the Bone Spirit and Myconid legions.

  • The Valoran Divine Alliance ordered the assembled forces through space portals to their assigned regions in the Thirteenth Layer of the Abyss.
  • You Mikuang led the Bone Spirit Legion through a portal, while the Human Allied Forces established twelve linked forward positions.
  • The Wrynn Family’s God-Forged Mecha, Skeleton Engineering Team, and allied forces cleared land, built Block Cities, and attacked the Abyssal Demons.
  • The Myconids spread Spore Mycelium across their territory, turning the Abyssal land into a Spore World and converting fallen demons into Mycelium Constructs.
  • The Elves and Fairies joined the Myconids in cultivating the new world or advancing with the Mycelium Construct Legion.
  • Abyssal Overlords who had fought the Wrynn Alliance became restless when they heard Bone Spirit and Myconid legions had entered the Thirteenth Layer.

Ch. 527The Happy Dilemma

The Valoran Alliance fought the Abyssal Demons to secure the territory for Valorant, while Medivh kept the Wrynn Family within the limits of the joint operation. Twenty years later, Valorant had been established, and Medivh gave its godhood-ascension slot to Freya.

  • The Abyssal Demons learned Valoran was leading the invasion and assembled armies to fight while reaping souls on other fronts.
  • The Gewalt Federation and Dalaran Empire found their defenses under less pressure because the Wrynn Family's skeleton legions drove back the demons nearby.
  • Light Priests, including Moana's branch, treated wounded soldiers and cleansed demonic energy in field hospitals.
  • The Valoran Alliance held to its planned territory, and Medivh avoided expanding the Wrynn Family's holdings or provoking the Abyssal Demon Gods.
  • Over twenty years, Valorant became a settled territory, though Abyssal hunting squads continued to infiltrate it and reap souls.
  • Medivh gave Valorant's godhood-ascension slot to Freya so she could ascend on behalf of the Church of Light and the Wrynn Family.

Ch. 528Wherever We Go, There You Are

Medivh stayed out of the conflicts in the Plane Graveyard while the Wrynn Alliance focused on developing its strength. After years of preparation, Goddess of Fire Prayer Hestia led the Skyfire Plane into evolutionary ascension, drawing the attention of God Rank powers who gathered to claim a share.

  • The Wrynn Alliance avoided provoking the Abyssal Demons as God Rank powers settled in the Plane Graveyard and sent Legendary Transcendents to fight over territory.
  • In the 705th year of the Wrynn Family calendar, Hestia invited Medivh to a Fire Prayer ceremony as the Skyfire Plane reached the threshold of evolutionary ascension.
  • Hestia and Goddess of Spores Luna used divine power and the Energy Network to charge the Skyfire Plane for two and a half years, after which it began ascending.
  • Abyssal Demon Gods and Star Sea God Rank powers gathered around the Skyfire Plane, but did not attack while the Hall Angel, Bone Spirit, and Myconid legions formed a defensive line.
  • Hestia moved her Divine Kingdom to the Skyfire Plane, and Alchemy Void Fortresses and Spore Void Fortresses reinforced its defenses as the opposing powers watched from the sidelines.

Ch. 529Subduing the Enemy Without a Fight

The Skyfire Plane ascended to become a Thirteenth-Rank Origin Plane, and the Wrynn Alliance kept it without a fight as the gods held back. After the celebration, Hestia’s pantheon gained new goddesses and grew stronger, while Medivh returned to the Holy Remains Plane to pursue his own ascent.

  • The Skyfire Plane completed its evolutionary leap, and the gods refrained from attacking while the Wrynn Alliance retained the plane.
  • Amia ascended as the Skyfire Goddess, followed by Michaela, Demia, and Liuying, who became goddesses in Hestia’s Fire Prayer Pantheon.
  • Hestia thanked Luna for her help, and Luna declined the Fire-Praying Dance but suggested inviting Lucia, who had ascended as the Goddess of the Fire Web.
  • Lucia attended the Fire-Praying Dance and later took charge of building the Fire Prayer Pantheon’s Energy Network and linking it to Luna’s network.
  • Hestia prepared for her ascension ceremony, believing the Fire Prayer Pantheon could help her reach the Main God Rank.
  • Medivh returned to the Holy Remains Plane, where Qi Hengsan had become a Lower God and Medivh had gained two Thirteenth-Rank Low-Grade Gold Bone Bone Spirit Substitutes.

Ch. 530Light of Wisdom

The Medivh Pantheon’s planes continued growing their ranks of gods as Freya ascended and celebrated with Medivh’s family. Medivh chose Beatrice to receive the Wrynn Family’s next ascension opportunity while expanding plans to raise gods for the races under his rule.

  • The Sam Plane, Holy Remains Plane, and Night Glow Plane built up powerful groups of gods, while Medivh maintained close ties with the Night Glow Goddesses.
  • Freya ascended to godhood as the Goddess of the Light of Wisdom and excitedly reunited with Medivh and his family.
  • Freya used her divine power to create an illustrated book that let Audrey, Oriana, and the others experience its story firsthand.
  • Medivh promised to support his partners’ future ascensions and selected Beatrice, Queen of the Forest Elves, for the Wrynn Family’s remaining opportunity.
  • Medivh planned to raise representatives of the races under his rule to godhood in the Iron Arm Realm and Holy Remains Plane.

Ch. 531May Osman Be Blessed

The Osman Family won the Gewalt Federation’s first contest for a chance to ascend to godhood, and Plank became the God Rank Knight Emperor Osman. At the celebration, Medivh’s Gold Bone double joined the festivities and was asked to predict who would become the next God Rank Knight.

  • The Osman Family won the contest, Plank ascended to the Thirteenth Rank as Emperor Osman, and the Marquis Cassio Family took the Osman Family’s former ducal seat.
  • Medivh sent a Gold Bone double with Camelia and her descendants to Valorant to congratulate the Osman Family.
  • At the banquet, Camelia deflected noblewomen’s attempts to arrange a betrothal for her five-year-old great-grandson, saying he should choose his own bride when he was older.
  • Medivh’s Gold Bone double spoke with two God Rank Knights while representatives of the Twelve Dukes listened to their discussion of the federation’s future.
  • When asked who would win the next chance to ascend to godhood, Medivh said any of the contenders could succeed.

Ch. 532She'd Been Quietly Preparing Something Big

Goddess of Spores Luna used the Tarot Plane and twenty-four Twelfth Rank Spore Planes to advance the Tarot Plane into an Origin Plane, then began her second ascension ritual and established a Nature Pantheon for Elf and Fairy tribes. The plane advanced without interference, and Luna rejected invitations from other Elf and Fairy pantheons.

  • Medivh congratulated Emperor Osman and Plank before leaving Wrynn Territory on Valorant.
  • In mid-April of Wrynn Year 805, Luna used the Tarot Plane as her core and twenty-four Twelfth Rank Spore Planes as nodes to advance the Tarot Plane toward the Thirteenth Rank.
  • As the Tarot Plane evolved, Luna began her second ascension ritual as King of the Elves and Fairies and Goddess of Nature, creating the Nature Pantheon for Elf and Fairy tribes.
  • Abyssal Demon Gods and Star Sea God Rank powerhouses noticed the Tarot Plane's evolution but chose not to interfere, wary of the Wrynn Alliance's backing from the Hall Angels and Light Alliance.
  • The Tarot Plane completed its evolution undisturbed and became an Origin Plane, after which Luna sent Elf and Fairy leaders to receive its blessings and pursue godhood.
  • Luna rejected invitations from high gods and Main Gods who wanted her to join their pantheons.

Ch. 533The All-Female Pantheon

Goddess of Spores Luna oversaw the rise of goddesses on Tarot Plane and the growth of her Spore Pantheon before advancing to Mid God. After Medivh congratulated her, she learned that his Holy Remains Plane was nearing the Fourteenth Rank.

  • Goddess of the Forest Azshara, Goddess of Ice and Snow Aisha, Goddess of Flower Language Melantha, Goddess of the Ocean Thetis, and Goddess of the Grasslands Nahida ascended on Tarot Plane, forming the first group of Nature Lineage goddesses.
  • Goddess of Spores Luna established an all-female Tarot Nature Pantheon for Elves and Fairies close to Medivh, while reserving future Myconid ascensions for her own Spore Pantheon.
  • Medivh and Goddess of Spores Luna named four ascended Myconids the Goddesses of Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Winter, and twelve more Myconids later became Thirteenth-Rank Lower Gods.
  • In Wrynn Year 836, Goddess of Spores Luna advanced to Mid God outside Sam Plane, while the Spore Jungle spread across its surrounding Satellite Planes and Void Fortresses.
  • Medivh congratulated Goddess of Spores Luna, who asked about his cultivation and learned that Holy Remains Plane was restoring its former glory and approaching the Fourteenth Rank.

Ch. 534Banquet of Gods

After the Holy Remains Plane advanced to the Fourteenth Rank, Medivh became a Mid God and hosted a banquet attended by gods and representatives from across the region. The Elf Empire and Fairy Empire arrived seeking closer ties with Goddess of Spores Luna.

  • The Holy Remains Plane advanced to the Fourteenth Rank, and Medivh broke through to become a Fourteenth-Rank Mid God.
  • Gods and representatives from the Wrynn Alliance, Light Alliance, and Gewalt Federation congratulated Medivh at his Banquet of Gods.
  • The Gewalt Federation delegation marveled at the hundred gods gathered, including many pantheon members they did not recognize.
  • The Elf Empire and Fairy Empire sent guardians to meet Goddess of Spores Luna and pursue a deeper partnership through her pantheon.

Ch. 535The Dream of a Billion Girls

At the Banquet of Gods, Luna negotiated the Elf Empire and Fairy Empire’s entry into the Tarot Nature Pantheon, requiring their guardians to perform for Medivh as a condition of access to godhood resources. The guardians accepted, and they stayed for Medivh’s private banquet, where Luna explained that they had volunteered to fit in with the pantheons.

  • Luna examined the Elf Empire and Fairy Empire guardians’ pasts and approved them for further discussions.
  • The guardians sought ascension-to-godhood opportunities for their races, and Luna required them to offer Medivh a dance at High Tower Castle to gain access to the Tarot Plane’s resources.
  • The guardians agreed that any elves or fairies who participated would do so voluntarily.
  • After the public Banquet of Gods ended, the guardians followed Luna to Medivh’s private banquet.
  • Luna told Medivh that the guardians had come to get to know the goddesses and become part of the pantheons.

Ch. 536I'm Not Falling for That

Medivh and Luna recruited elves and fairies into the Tarot Nature Pantheon, then joined the Church of Light and the Hall Angels to help the Horn Plane advance into an Origin Plane. The Abyssal Demons tried to rally the All Spirits of the Star Sea against the Holy Hall of Light, but the spirits refused to take sides.

  • Luna brought elf and fairy representatives to Medivh for assessment, and thirty-six candidates received the first chances to ascend to godhood.
  • Luna reserved the next thirty-six ascension chances for elves and fairies who bore Medivh children.
  • In June of Wrynn Year 905, Medivh and Luna asked the Hall Angels and Church of Light to help the Horn Plane advance, and Kayle and Moanna sent the proposal to the Holy Hall of Light.
  • The seven goddesses and the gathered deities approved the proposal, and Luna and the God of Light began channeling energy to advance the Horn Plane.
  • The Abyssal Demons called on the All Spirits of the Star Sea to oppose the Holy Hall of Light, but the spirits refused, hoping the conflict would curb the demons and leave them room to expand.

Ch. 537The Net of Light

Horn Plane ascended to an Origin Plane, rewarding its contributors with godhood and giving birth to Gabriel, Goddess of the Net of Light. As Gabriel began weaving the Wrynn Family’s planes into her Net, Arthas learned that Syndra and Medivh were together and chose not to disturb them.

  • The nobles of Loran City-State regretted abandoning Horn Plane, while the Wrynn Family’s support and the Church of Light’s work enabled its peaceful ascension to an Origin Plane.
  • Syndra, Uther, Arthas, and Tirion ascended to godhood, and the Hall Angels established a Light Angel Reincarnation Pool that produced three Divine Angels of Light.
  • Gabriel, Goddess of the Net of Light and a Myconid Goddess, was born and received permission from the Goddess of Light’s incarnations to weave the Holy Hall’s native planes into her Net.
  • Medivh and Luna anticipated that Gabriel’s Net of Light could raise her to the upper god ranks and benefit the Myconid Tribe.
  • At the celebration hosted by the Frost Empire and Holland Empire, Arthas asked Tirion why Syndra had not come, and Tirion revealed her relationship with Medivh.
  • Arthas understood and stopped asking about Syndra, while Uther already knew about the relationship.

Ch. 538The Abnormal Plane Will

An unclaimed Twelfth Rank plane ascended into an Origin Plane, but its awake Plane Will turned its natives into Khorne’s gods of slaughter and fought off the invading Star Sea factions and Abyssal Demons. The plane became the Khorne Plane, a persistent Sin Domain whose corruption could follow survivors back to their own worlds.

  • Medivh kept the Wrynn Alliance out of the conflict, judging that it lacked the strength to challenge the Star Sea factions and Abyssal Demons alone.
  • After the plane ascended, its Plane Will remained awake and helped its natives ascend to godhood as invaders entered.
  • The Plane Will created guardians and empowered the native gods, whose brutal slaughter killed many invaders and enabled more natives to ascend.
  • The Khorne Rule spread through the plane, turning Abyssal Demons into Terror Demons or Tyrant Demons and driving Star Sea Transcendents to attack friend and foe alike.
  • The invaders retreated into strongholds or withdrew as the plane became known as the Khorne Plane, where factions and Abyssal Demons continued fighting amid its creatures.
  • Khorne’s mark persisted on those who left the plane, and repeated slaughter could awaken its corruption far from the Khorne Plane.

Ch. 539How Could They Get Their Home Raided, Too?

Medivh and Luna considered how the Star Sea Rules had created the Khorne Plane to counter the growing strength of the Light Alliance, spreading Khorne corruption across the Star Sea and Abyss. As the Khorne threat continued to grow, the Tzeentch Plane appeared after a Fel Overlord corrupted a Thirteenth Rank Plane, leaving Medivh stunned that Fel Energy could raid a home, too.

  • Medivh reflected on how the Khorne Plane had turned its natives into Khorne Creatures and spread Khorne corruption through the Star Sea and Abyss.
  • Luna suggested the Star Sea Rules had created new sources of evil to keep the Light Alliance from growing too powerful, and Medivh agreed.
  • Medivh recalled that the Star Sea Rules had previously unleashed the Nightmare Fiends and Nightmares to balance the growing power of light.
  • A Fel Overlord who called himself the God of Conspiracy, Tzeentch, schemed against the native God Rank powerhouses of a Thirteenth Rank Plane and corrupted it with Fel Energy.
  • The Tzeentch Plane came into being, and Medivh wondered how Fel Energy had managed to raid someone's home.

Ch. 540Fools Were Not Worth Plotting With

Medivh failed to persuade the Star Sea gods and Abyssal Demon Gods to oppose the Three Sources of Evil, so the Light Alliance prepared for war on every front. The chapter ended with Light Alliance forces attacking Abyssal worlds as Titan City deployed on the thirty-third layer and its troops charged into battle.

  • Medivh urged the Star Sea powers to destroy Tzeentch and curb Fel Energy, but they rejected his proposal and let Tzeentch, Khorne, and Nurgle grow.
  • The Three Sources of Evil and Abyssal forces attacked the Wrynn Alliance and Light Alliance, while the Star Sea gods and Abyssal Demon Gods blocked the Light Alliance from striking at their planes.
  • The Holy Hall of Light ordered a full-scale assault on Abyssal worlds, and the Light Alliance launched forces from its outposts to attack five layers of the Surface Abyss World.
  • Tens of thousands of God-Forged Titan mechs joined to form Titan City on the thirty-third layer, establishing a forward base for the Light Alliance.
  • Titan City's cannons opened fire as Alchemy War Chariots, airships, War Goblins, Bone Spirits, and Holy Remains Skeletons advanced against Abyssal Demons and Abyssal Fiends.
