The human powerhouses guarding the War Demi-plane urgently crossed the Plane Barrier to stabilize the upper battlefield and prevent the Indigenous Kingdom's powerhouses from interfering in the conventional war.
At the same time, the two city-states mobilized in a hurry, dispatching their garrison troops to the War Demi-plane for a second landing through the broken plane boundary, to reinforce the first wave of the Expeditionary Army.
Emergency mobilization took time. Until reinforcements arrived, the troops at each landing site could only tough it out.

The Indigenous Kingdom understood this perfectly and wasn't going to give the first wave of the Expeditionary Army a chance to catch their breath.
After destroying the Plane Portal, the Indigenous Kingdom's legions outside each landing site attacked recklessly, determined to wipe out the troops before reinforcements from Zaun City-State and Odyssey City-State could arrive.
They knew that only by inflicting a painful defeat on Zaun City-State and Odyssey City-State could Sam Plane find peace.
