"After withdrawing from the world, something seems to have happened to the Gem Dragons."
The information Ezreal had gathered indicated that the Gem Dragons hadn't withdrawn when they were at their weakest. They had been on the decline, but from the peak of their power, and were still extremely strong.
The Gem Dragons' seclusion was much like the Light Alliance's decision to withdraw from worldly affairs in the new era. Both were top powers in the Star Sea that had forcefully retreated from the world.
According to the Gem Dragon leaders' plans, the Gem Dragon race should have been thriving in the Lost Lands.
Yet as the three explorers traveled around, they didn't encounter a single Gem Dragon, aside from the danger Lulu had sensed at the beginning.
No matter how vast a Dragon's territory was, it couldn't be so enormous that there wasn't a single Gem Dragon anywhere in the area.
Something must have happened to the Gem Dragons in the Lost Lands, turning what should have been a path of secluded growth into a road to extinction.
"Ezreal, look what I found!"
As Teemo scouted the area, he stumbled into an abandoned Gem Dragon Nest.
To Teemo's immense delight, he found more than a dozen Dragon eggs in the abandoned Nest.
Dragon eggs had no real expiration date. As long as they weren't damaged by outside forces, unborn Dragons could remain in their eggs for an extremely long time.
Teemo discovered that the eggs were still viable. They were capable of hatching.
Clearly, this wasn't an ordinary abandoned Nest. Under normal circumstances, when Dragons left their homes, they took their eggs with them.
If, for some reason, they couldn't take the eggs, Dragon parents would destroy them, however painfully, rather than let them fall into someone else's hands.
