Ch. 1The Cursed Profession

Medivh enrolled at Loran Magic Academy and discovered that his overwhelming necromantic affinity had made him a student of the despised Necromancer profession. After mastering meditation and Bone Resurrection, he graduated from the apprentice curriculum, while keeping a strange vision and unique spell form he had discovered to himself.

  • Medivh completed enrollment and learned that he had exceptionally high necromantic affinity, a cursed talent weakened by the Hospice Blessing.
  • Medivh met his unnamed mentor, confirmed that he would pursue necromancy, and mastered the Mental Meditation Technique within a few days.
  • The old man taught Medivh Bone Resurrection using rare pure corpses untouched by the Hospice Blessing.
  • While preparing the spell, Medivh saw a corpse's death and grasped a unique form of Bone Resurrection, but concealed it and cast the standard spell instead.
  • Medivh successfully raised a frail skeletal undead, and the old man declared him graduated after explaining that the apprentice curriculum only required meditation and Bone Resurrection.

Ch. 2Exile to Odyssey

Medivh left the Hobarton Family after becoming a Necromancer Apprentice and received an appointment exiling him to the Odyssey Region. On the journey, he discovered Audrey hiding in his carriage, but she had yet to explain why she followed him.

  • Medivh graduated as a Necromancer Apprentice, and his teacher resigned after advising him to become a knight.
  • Wester told Medivh that the Noble Council had made him a Pioneer of Odyssey, effectively exiling him from the Hobarton Family.
  • Medivh tore up his childhood engagement contract when members of the Newint Family arrived to break it off.
  • Medivh accepted his appointment letter, rejected Wester's offer of a guard, and left Hobarton Manor by carriage.
  • After reaching Zaun through a spatial gate, Medivh traveled west toward Winter Fortress and discovered Audrey hiding in his carriage.
  • Audrey drove off a band of roadside thugs, then began coughing when Medivh pressed her to explain why she had followed him.

Ch. 3Wherever I Am Is the Pioneer Territory

Audrey chose to leave her family behind and accompany Medivh into Odyssey, where he declared that wherever he went would be the Pioneer Territory. After they camped in the wilderness, dozens of thugs surrounded them, and Medivh attacked.

  • Audrey admitted she had hidden in Medivh’s carriage and drank a Breath-Concealing Potion to escape her family, then insisted on joining his journey rather than returning home.
  • A letter from the Newint Family revealed that Audrey had been expelled, and Medivh set off with her for the lands beyond Winter Fortress.
  • Audrey learned Medivh intended to create his own Pioneer Territory in Odyssey instead of visiting the territories left by earlier Pioneers.
  • After they left Winter Canyon and camped at remote ruins, several dozen thugs surrounded them and threatened Audrey and Medivh.
  • Audrey stood in front of Medivh and offered to hold off the attackers, but Medivh charged over the fire and cut down the thugs.

Ch. 4Please Call Me an Archaeologist

Medivh revealed that he was a first-rank knight and explained why he had hidden his strength from the Hobarton Family. While he and Audrey tested his unusual bone-resurrection magic, he discovered that older bones produced stronger undead components.

  • Medivh killed the bandits, then told Audrey he had concealed his knight identity because he planned to leave the Hobarton Family and live independently.
  • Audrey teased Medivh about romance and shared her fantasies, but he redirected her to help gather bones for his experiment.
  • Medivh explained that the bandits' corpses were protected by the God of Light's Hospice Blessing, so they dug up older bones instead.
  • Medivh resurrected bones that were 137 years old and created a Green Bone Arm, learning it could form a Green Bone Skeleton with Apprentice Knight strength and a second-rank growth limit.
  • Medivh identified Grey Bone and White Bone Components from younger bones and learned that their skeletons had lower initial strength and growth limits.

Ch. 5Time Is Power

Medivh used Temporal Bone Resurrection to build a growing skeleton force while improving his spiritual power and planning a fortified territory. As Wester searched the roads for him, Medivh and Audrey remained busy in the ruins, preparing for their future settlement.

  • Medivh resurrected a Green Bone Skeleton Warrior, whose success restored his mana and strengthened his spiritual power, and he gave Audrey knight cultivation resources.
  • Over a month and a half, Medivh refined nearly two hundred sets of bones and assembled six White Bone Skeletons and twelve Green Bone Skeletons to excavate, patrol, and hunt.
  • Medivh's farmers unearthed rare bones over five hundred years old, which he stored because he could not yet refine them.
  • Wester learned that mercenaries had not found Medivh in the Odyssey Pioneer Territory and ordered them to search the roads for him.
  • Medivh showed Audrey plans for a territory of residential districts, development zones, roads, and Fort Towers built and staffed by skeletons.

Ch. 6This Skeleton Is Not Right

Medivh’s camp drew a gang of thugs, but his powerful Time Skeletons and his own Battle Qi let him defeat them. A week later, he and Audrey settled into a brick cottage, where they could finally enjoy the comforts of a home.

  • Medivh built a brick kiln and had the Skeleton Farmers make construction bricks, attracting a gang of thugs to the camp.
  • Skinny Monkey attacked a Green Bone Skeleton Warrior and was killed by its counterstrike.
  • The thugs charged the camp, but Medivh’s Skeletons killed most of them, and Medivh caught and killed their fleeing leader with Battle Qi.
  • Audrey finished fighting the remaining thugs and ran to claim credit from Medivh.
  • Medivh sent the corpses to the Burial Ground and returned to refining bone components while his mental power continued to grow.
  • A week later, Medivh and Audrey moved into a three-room brick cottage, where Audrey celebrated a hot bath.

Ch. 7Murlocs in the Rain

During the rainy season, Medivh’s skeletons fought repeated waves of Murlocs drawn by the smell of blood, while he faced two Transcendental Murlocs himself. He wounded one but remained surrounded as more enemies joined the battle.

  • Medivh became an intermediate mage apprentice and continued building up his skeleton forces and brick stores during the rainy season.
  • A group of Murlocs attacked Medivh’s settlement, and his skeletons defeated them; Audrey warned that their blood could attract more Murlocs.
  • Medivh resurrected a Green Bone Warrior from components more than two hundred and fifty years old before the next wave arrived.
  • Repeated Murloc waves attacked, and Medivh, Audrey, and the skeletons fought to defend the Brick Cottage and warehouses.
  • Medivh confronted two Transcendental Murlocs while Audrey and the Green Bone Warrior held off the other enemies; he wounded one Murloc, but more foes joined the battle.

Ch. 8Building the Armory Camp

After Medivh and his Skeletons defeated the Transcendental Murlocs, he expanded the Ruins Camp and planned a ring of connected Armory Camps to protect the Castle District. The chapter ended with Medivh’s Skeletons swiftly killing a gang of thugs who tried to seize the camp.

  • A Green Bone Warrior awakened Bone Spirit Power and helped Medivh kill the two Transcendental Murlocs, driving the remaining Murlocs away.
  • Medivh carried the wounded Audrey into the cottage, treated her injuries, and inspected the Skeleton Legion’s losses.
  • Audrey woke later that day, teased Medivh about taking responsibility, and recovered fully during the half-month without Murloc attacks.
  • After the rainy season ended, Medivh expanded his Skeleton forces and planned to surround the Castle District with connected Armory Camps and warehouses.
  • A gang of thugs tried to raid Medivh’s camp, but his Skeletons defeated and killed them all.

Ch. 9Hunting a Cold-Horned Deer

Medivh led his Green Bone Warriors and Audrey on a hunt for a Cold-Horned Deer, using its magic-rich blood to awaken two new Transcendents. After a week of eating its meat and training, Medivh advanced to mid-level first-tier knight and Audrey became a low-level first-tier knight, while Medivh continued to prioritize mage training.

  • Medivh expanded the camp and added nineteen skeletons while the camp withstood several thug and Goblin attacks without losses.
  • After Skeleton Hunters found a Cold-Horned Deer, Medivh and Audrey joined the Green Bone Warriors to hunt it.
  • Medivh and the warriors wore down the deer’s magic before killing it, and its blood awakened Bone Spirit Power in two Green Bone Warriors.
  • Medivh butchered and stored the deer, then shared its meat with the camp; Audrey refined blood into qi and became a low-level first-tier knight.
  • After a week of training and eating the deer meat, Medivh advanced to mid-level first-tier knight and continued his mage studies.

Ch. 10Slave Hunter Group

Medivh expanded his camp and raised Grey Bone Skeletons to speed its construction as a Slave Hunter Group traveled around Winter Fortress with a captured caravan. After discovering Medivh’s camp, the group decided to raid it, and Sherlock charged at Audrey.

  • Medivh refined stored bones and assembled thirty-six Grey Bone Skeletons to serve as laborers while the camp’s walls and gates continued to advance.
  • Venice led the Slave Hunter Group around Winter Fortress to avoid losing its slaves to confiscation, fines, and taxes.
  • Venice stopped Sherlock from approaching the valuable female captives and promised him women at Red Street instead.
  • A scout reported finding Medivh’s nearly enclosed camp, and Venice chose to raid it for its presumed wealth and consider taking the Necromancer captive.
  • Medivh’s Skeletons formed up at the camp’s southern gap, and Sherlock charged at Audrey when he saw her.

Ch. 11Offense? There Was No Such Thing

Medivh’s forces defeated the Slave Hunter Group, killed its leaders, and brought twenty-five nonhuman female slaves to Armory Camp. After more than ten days of captivity and watching the camp grow, the Cat-folk warrior Suixiang decided to ask Medivh for work to prove her people’s usefulness.

  • Audrey and the Skeletons killed the Slave Hunter Group’s warriors, while Medivh struck down Venice and Audrey killed Sherlock as they tried to flee.
  • Medivh ordered the Skeletons to bring the twenty-five female slaves back to Armory Camp, where they were housed in an unused warehouse.
  • A Cat-folk warrior stopped the other slaves from escaping, and the captives remained in the camp as the armories were built and more Skeletons appeared.
  • The Cat-folk warrior noticed that a Green Bone Warrior had advanced into a Tier 1 Bone Spirit Warrior and feared the captives would be discarded because they had no value.
  • Suixiang volunteered to tell Medivh that she was willing to serve and ask him to assign her work, despite her companions’ warnings.

Ch. 12Awakening

Suixiang pledged herself as a Spirit Cat Warrior to Medivh, who put her in charge of the foreign girls and tasked her with teaching them human language. Half a month later, Armory Camp’s southern wall was complete, and Medivh had built up a sizable Skeleton force.

  • Suixiang and Suixin asked Audrey to arrange an audience with Medivh so they could offer their service.
  • Suixiang demonstrated her Spirit Rune Warrior abilities, and Medivh tested her obedience before accepting her pledge.
  • Medivh placed Suixiang in charge of the foreign girls and ordered her to teach them human language.
  • Audrey began teaching the girls and watched over their integration into Armory Camp, where twenty-five foreign girls included Suixiang, Suixin, and Suihua.
  • Half a month later, Armory Camp’s southern wall was enclosed, and its Skeleton force numbered seventy-two Grey Bone Skeletons, fifty-six White Bone Skeletons, and eighty-eight Green Bone Skeletons.

Ch. 13Spirit Cat Warrior

Medivh led an expedition to an Ancient Battlefield identified by Suixiang and uncovered remains from a devastating battle between the Spirit Cat Tribe and the Gewalt army. He resurrected a Green Bone Spirit Cat Warrior, gained a surge of magical and spiritual power, and suspected the battle had helped destroy the Spirit Cat Tribe’s inheritance.

  • Suixiang told Medivh about an Ancient Battlefield where the Spirit Cat ancestors had fought, and Medivh decided to investigate after nightfall.
  • Medivh, Audrey, Suixiang, and the Skeletons reached the battlefield and excavated bones from the old battle between the Spirit Cat Tribe and the Gewalt army.
  • Medivh found remains of Spirit Cat Warriors and Warlocks as well as human knights and mages, then brought the unexcavated bones back to camp before dawn.
  • Medivh restored his mana and resurrected a Spirit Cat Warrior Skeleton, whose difficult creation greatly increased his spiritual power.
  • Medivh examined the Green Bone Spirit Cat Warrior and concluded that the Spirit Cat Tribe’s lost inheritance was behind its prolonged decline.

Ch. 14History Is Knowledge

Medivh resurrected Spirit Cat Warriors and Flame Skeleton Knights to recover lost Spirit Cat and knight inheritances, then advanced to Senior Mage Apprentice. He finally resurrected a Spirit Cat Warlock, restoring the Spirit Cat Tribe’s chance to inscribe its Inheritance Spirit Rune.

  • Medivh used Suixin to communicate with a Spirit Cat Warrior, who helped replicate the Spirit Cat Inheritance Spirit Rune and Cat Clan Combat Technique.
  • Suixiang and Suixin worried that no Warlock Apprentice could complete their inheritance, but Medivh promised to resurrect a Spirit Cat Warlock.
  • After failing to resurrect the Spirit Cat Warlock, Medivh resurrected a Flame Skeleton Knight and copied its Flame Battle Qi Breathing Technique and three combat techniques.
  • Over the next week, Medivh resurrected two more Spirit Cat Warriors and one Skeleton Knight, while Suixin recorded the warriors’ inheritance runes and combat techniques.
  • The three resurrections raised Medivh’s spiritual power to the level of Senior Mage Apprentice, allowing him to resurrect the Spirit Cat Warlock.
  • The newly resurrected Spirit Cat Warlock stood just below the first rank, and the Spring of Time restored Medivh’s strength.

Ch. 15Defeated Underling

Medivh helped the Spirit Cat Warriors complete their inheritances and allowed the Cat-girls in the camp to receive them, then spent a week crafting skeletons and expanding the Armory Camp. With the camp’s ranks replenished and its defenses growing, he led a large group to the Spirit Cat Ancient Battlefield for another excavation.

  • The Spirit Cat Warlock passed the Cat Clan Warlock Cultivation Method and inheritance-rune engraving technique to Suixin, then completed the three Spirit Cat Warriors’ runes so they could advance.
  • Medivh approved giving the other Cat-girls the inheritances, and Suihua passed his obedience test and proved to have warlock talent.
  • Medivh spent the next week smelting skeletal parts and resurrecting Common Skeletons, producing Skeleton Rangers and Skeleton Assassins while the camp’s construction continued.
  • The Armory Camp grew to 354 skeletons, including ten Transcendental Skeletons, and Medivh led them to the Spirit Cat Ancient Battlefield for a second excavation.

Ch. 16The Story of the Golden Bell

Medivh expanded Armory Camp’s forces and infrastructure while Suihua explained the history of her Golden Bell. The Armory District’s outer fortifications were completed, and construction began on the Wall District.

  • After Audrey celebrated becoming Medivh’s first lover, she greeted Suixiang as her little sister and encouraged her to serve Medivh.
  • Over half a month, Medivh resurrected five Spirit Cat Warriors and one Spirit Cat Warlock, completing more of the Spirit Cat Race’s Inheritance Spirit Rune and advancing the warriors to first-rank beginner level.
  • Medivh also added thirty-six Green Bone Skeletons to Armory Camp and planned to build walls, resource districts, and farms as the camp grew.
  • Suihua told Medivh that Suixiang had given her the Golden Bell in childhood so she could be found when she wandered away.
  • Medivh increased the number of ordinary skeletons by crafting Grey Bone and White Bone Skeletons, and the Armory District’s outer fortifications joined up on the fifth day.
  • The skeletons began digging foundations in the Wall District according to Medivh’s plans.

Ch. 17Bloodthirsty Mosquitoes

Medivh learned that the Mosquito Plague was approaching and prepared the Armory Camp by hunting fleeing beasts and sheltering underground. When the swarm arrived, his skeletons hunted the mosquitoes, and Medivh enslaved a herd of bovine magic beasts that sought refuge at the camp.

  • Suixiang told Medivh that the gloomy sky signaled a gathering swarm of Bloodthirsty Mosquitoes and warned that famine would follow the plague.
  • Medivh ordered the Transcendental Skeletons to hunt fleeing beasts and capture tameable herbivores to prepare food supplies.
  • After five days, Medivh, Audrey, and the Alien Maids took shelter in the Underground Fortress as the Bloodthirsty Mosquito Swarm reached the Armory Camp.
  • Medivh's skeletons discovered that mosquito blood could strengthen Time Skeletons and began trapping and killing the swarm.
  • A herd of bovine magic beasts approached the camp for protection, and Medivh had Suixin negotiate their submission through the Voice of the Soul.
  • After the herd's leader accepted enslavement, the Transcendental Skeletons drove off the magic-beast-level mosquitoes, and Medivh fed the recovering herd.

Ch. 18There Was Always a Bigger Fish

Medivh expanded Armory Camp’s Skeleton forces during the Bloodthirsty Mosquito Plague, learning new spells and strengthening his troops with magic beast blood. The chapter left Armory Camp secure and growing, with its Big-Horned Ox herd providing a sustainable source of blood for further advancement.

  • Medivh sent Transcendental Skeletons to lure and hunt Bloodthirsty Mosquitoes while other Skeletons guarded Armory Camp and continued construction.
  • Over two months, Medivh crafted hundreds of Skeletons, restored the Transcendental Skeletons’ knowledge, and learned Cleanse, Mage Hand, and Magic Shield from the Flame Skeleton Mage.
  • The Skeletons absorbed magic beast blood and refined blood essence, advancing the Transcendental Skeletons and several Green Bone Skeletons into first-rank Bone Spirits.
  • Armory Camp’s population exceeded one thousand Skeletons, and its walls continued to rise around the camp.
  • Medivh named the recovered cattle Big-Horned Oxen and drew blood from them, advancing two Green Bone Skeleton Rangers into first-rank Bone Spirit Rangers.

Ch. 19A Seventy-Thirty Split

Medivh cultivated Earth Battle Qi and spent time with Audrey while the Vincent Family negotiated with Marquis Justin to exploit the coming famine in the Odyssey Region. As the region braced for hunger and violence, Suixiang worried about the Spirit Cat Clan and Medivh said he would consider conquering it once his forces grew stronger.

  • Medivh chose the Earth Battle Qi Breathing Technique and used Bloodthirsty Mosquito blood and essence to transform his Battle Qi, greatly increasing his defense.
  • Medivh and Audrey shared an intimate moment in the High Tower.
  • The Vincent Family's negotiator offered Marquis Justin a share of grain-sale profits, and Justin settled on a seventy-thirty split in favor of Winter Fortress.
  • Suixiang told Medivh she feared the Spirit Cat Clan would suffer during the famine, and Medivh said he would consider conquering it when the Armory Camp was stronger.
  • Mobs and Alien Tribes fortified their camps and gathered food, while roaming mobs robbed others and Hoarder Rat refugees dug tunnels to wait out the famine.

Ch. 20Complete Madness

As famine spread through the Odyssey Region, Medivh’s skeletons repelled raiders while he continued developing Armory Camp. At Winter Canyon, the Vincent Family’s grain sale ended in a riot that left the merchants and Winter Fortress troops facing heavy losses.

  • Thugs attacked Armory Camp, but Medivh’s Green Bone Skeletons killed them, and the God of Light’s Hospice Blessing prevented their corpses from becoming undead.
  • Medivh kept building his forces and searching settlement ruins for remains as the famine drove gangs to raid camps and alien tribes.
  • The Vincent Family brought grain to Winter Canyon under Winter Fortress escort and sold it at high prices to hungry thugs.
  • After a thug split open a grain sack, the crowd attacked the Vincent Family’s camp, and the general ordered his soldiers to retreat with the money.
  • The thugs pursued the retreating troops until Winter Fortress reinforcements arrived, and the Vincent Family merchants and general realized their losses could bring trouble from the Noble Council.
