Medivh returned to the War of Light and Dark, reclaimed the power drained by the Helm of Domination, and helped the Light Alliance defeat the Primal Abyss. After capturing Athena of Pride and Athena of Justice, he revealed that he had been orchestrating events from the Special Soul Space and had brought Slaanesh under his control.

He used the Crown of Blasphemy to profane all seven pairs of Avatars, forging the Crown of Profane Tears, but Athena remained asleep.

• Medivh freed Arthas and told his children that he had arranged the betrayal and sacrifices to awaken Athena, the Light-Dark Sovereign.

The Endless Star Sea’s defenses gradually wiped out the Outer Insect Swarm, and Medivh and Luna joined Athena to defeat and seal Insect Emperor Behemoth. Medivh warned that the seal would not hold for long and feared Behemoth would discover how to exploit the Psionic Net.

• The Void Fortresses, Bone Knights, and reserve defenses prevented the Outer Insect Swarm from replenishing its dwindling forces.
• Insect Emperor Behemoth struggled against Athena, who kept her from retreating while the swarm lost its foothold across the battlefields.
• After ten years, the swarm was wiped out inside the Iron Ball Defense Line, and the remaining Insect Kings were cornered.
• Medivh and Luna joined Athena against Behemoth, who asked to make peace and leave, but Athena refused.
