• Merit Points are awarded for killing people burdened with immense sin, whom Liang Qisheng calls Man-Ghouls. Killing alone is not stated to be sufficient: the victim must be worthy of death 1 2.

• Rewards vary considerably. Liang Qisheng suspects that a victim's strength may affect the amount, alongside their wrongdoing, but does not verify the precise rule 41.
• Demon-Humans yield several times more points than martial artists of comparable rank, according to Liang Qisheng's observations 90.

Uses

• Technique enhancement — Liang Qisheng spends points through the + shown beside eligible techniques on his mental data panel. His first point raises Black Tiger Fist from 8% to 13%; the improvement brings both martial insight and physical change 1 2.
• Knowledge refinement — The Herb Gathering Sutra is also eligible. Two points refine it, giving Liang Qisheng herbal knowledge rather than a combat technique 7 8.
• Martial-will refinement — Points allow him to refine the Seven Kills will in the Decapitation Ghost Blade, merging it with his Decapitation Blade Technique to form the Seven Kill Blood-Transforming Divine Blade 29 30.
• Technique evolution — Spending 87 points perfects Black Tiger Fist into the Black Tiger Fist Scripture; further evolution remains possible 45.

Limitations

• Costs rise as techniques approach mastery. At 99%, the Decapitation Blade Technique initially stops advancing despite further point expenditure 14 27.
• A technique may need to reach its entry threshold before points can be applied: Ghost Slaying Blade Art initially appears without an active + 32.
• Rapid enhancement places strain on the body and can leave hidden injuries. Liang Qisheng uses medicines and continued training to support the changes 34 63.
• The supply of points is finite. As Liang Qisheng's techniques become more demanding, ordinary execution tasks no longer provide enough for his needs 56 84.
