Luliduo and Qianshui (Part 2)

The two women sitting side by side stared at Li Dui, stunned. Double the clarity of Law Comprehension? How much more efficiently would they be able to comprehend the laws? They had to admit, they were a little tempted.

Li Dui waved his hands. "No, it's not that exaggerated. The effect is real. But they're incredibly difficult to fuse—really difficult! One is manageable. But fusing all three is hard even for a World Lord." When it came to fusing Xueluo Crystals, the natives of Xueluo World had it much easier than outsiders. It would be quite difficult for these two women to fuse them.

Only after hearing him say that did the women relax. The moment they'd heard about the effects of the Xueluo Crystals, they really had been tempted. Of course, only a little. As core Domain Lord Rank geniuses, they weren't so easily swayed.

Qianshui asked in surprise, "You're that impressive? You actually managed to get so many... of those things. And you offer to give us three each just like that. Come on, tell your big sis how many you've got."

"That many?" Qianshui was genuinely surprised. Luliduo also looked at Li Dui in astonishment.

Hearing her offer, Luliduo seemed tempted too.

"No way. I'll give them to you, but I won't trade them." Li Dui shook his head like a rattle drum.

He felt helpless. A few Xueluo Crystals really weren't worth much to him. The Giant Axe Martial Arena would only pay a few hundred points apiece. Giving the two women a few was no big deal.

Qianshui glared at him. "You little brat! I don't care—save some for me. I've still got a few points tucked away. Oh, and save three for your big sister Luliduo too."

Luliduo nodded in agreement.

Li Dui's attitude made them feel good. If he was willing to tell them about something so valuable, he really meant to give it to them.

"You'll be waiting a while. I don't plan on coming back anytime soon." Li Dui couldn't be bothered to argue about whether they should trade or not. He'd just give them the crystals when the time came.

Just then, a server brought in the drinks and food, set them out, and left.

"Why are you staying in such a dangerous place? You can only take ten missions every hundred years," Qianshui said, grabbing a skewer of meat.

"It's good for fusing... over there. I'll stay a while. Besides, there's no way I can finish ten missions in a hundred years. Unless I keep taking difficult or dangerous ones. That'd be exhausting."

Both women nodded. They'd been through it themselves and understood.

Luliduo rarely spoke up first. "Your safety should still come first. Dangerous missions can easily take an unexpected turn."

Qianshui chimed in, "Exactly. I ran into trouble once and was this close to disaster~ Though now that I'm a Domain Lord, why do I find myself missing those mission days?"

"Yeah, I know. I'm very cautious. I'm always ready to run to my spaceship. I bought a good one, the kind with an E9-Grade Laser Cannon." Li Dui answered as he bit into a pastry made from some material he couldn't identify.

The two women chuckled. Who actually called themselves cautious like that?

"That kind of spaceship is so expensive. You were willing to buy one?" As she spoke, Qianshui casually checked Li Dui's records to estimate how many points he'd earned to spend so freely. Then she exclaimed in surprise, "Wow, you passed the third level of the Heavenly Bridge after thirty years in Chaos City? Not bad, kid."

Luliduo looked at Li Dui in surprise. She hadn't managed that when she was his age.

"It's a pity you're with the Giant Axe Martial Arena. If you were with the Virtual Universe Company, you could apply to be my bodyguard. I'd protect you and keep you safe." Qianshui bit into a piece of meat.

"Would I have to check the 'agree to share your bed' option to be your bodyguard?" Li Dui asked with an alarmed look.

"You little brat, you're asking for it!" Qianshui angrily hurled the skewer in her hand at Li Dui. She aimed for his head, hoping to teach the cheeky brat a lesson. He'd even dared to tease her.

Since she'd just learned that Li Dui had passed the third level of the Heavenly Bridge, she put the comprehension of the fourth level into her throw. As a powerful Spirit Reader, she had no trouble controlling it that precisely.

Li Dui dodged instinctively. He had been sitting in his chair, but as he dodged, he seemed to rise without standing, sit without sitting—just a slight twist, but one with a certain elegance. Qianshui's skewer missed.

During this time, he'd killed twenty-eight city lords in Xueluo World. He'd held to the principle that he could take his time killing others—or even choose not to kill them—but he must do his best not to get hit. His movement technique had improved more than anything else through all that combat.

"Oh?" Qianshui froze.

Luliduo asked, a little suspiciously, "You can pass the fourth level now, can't you?"

Both women had a good eye for it. Qianshui had passed the eighth level of the Heavenly Bridge, while Luliduo had passed the seventh not long ago.

Seeing Qianshui pick up another pastry as if she meant to throw it, Li Dui quickly raised his hands in surrender. "I'm wrong, I'm wrong. I won't do it again." Then he turned to Luliduo and replied, "More or less."

Qianshui giggled and put the pastry in her mouth. Her words muffled, she said, "Let big sis teach you something. Of course you should check it. Don't you know you'll get more points that way? Haha."

"You can pass the fourth level of the Heavenly Bridge so quickly. How many levels has the one from your generation in the God Origin Secret Realm passed?" Luliduo asked.

"He'd already passed the fourth level before he left Chaos City."

"Then he's not much faster than you. How did you end up assigned to the Battle Axe Secret Realm? Can the Virtual Universe System really make a mistake?" Qianshui asked, puzzled. She'd thought Li Dui's talent had been overlooked during the Genius Battle.

"No, no. I just... uh, started to figure things out after Miss Luliduo saved me."

The two women understood. There was great terror between life and death. Some people experienced a brush with death and awakened new potential. It wasn't strange. There were plenty of similar scenes in stories and rumors.

"Then you really should thank Luliduo. By the way, are Earthlings really of the lowest bloodline rank? In our generation, Luo Feng has left everyone else several star systems behind. It's only been ten thousand years, and now another little genius like you has appeared." Qianshui sounded wistful as she mentioned Luo Feng.

A few of them from the Primordial Secret Realm had indeed been on good terms with Luo Feng. But at least she herself hadn't been close enough to him to chat happily despite the gap between their levels.

And they hadn't been in touch for years. It wasn't just her; Rong Jun and Uka didn't seem to have kept in touch either.

"Yeah, ninth rank. Senior Luo Feng... really is amazing. I'm still just okay. I nearly died in Chaos City. Of course I'm grateful to Miss Luliduo. I'll always keep it in my heart."

Li Dui patted his chest, then raised his cup in a toast and drained it.
