"We're back."
"Back in a human city."
Tang Ping and his companions felt a wave of emotion. Although they had spent less than ten days in the Wilderness Zone, the area was desolate and ruined, with cities overrun by massive numbers of monsters.
Only the base cities were safe havens for human life, the true bastions of civilization.
"Let's go, take the Limit Martial Arts Hall's dedicated transport back."
"Coming."
The group walked together along the special martial artist passage. At the end of the passage lay a small plaza where dedicated vehicles from the Limit Martial Arts Hall, the Thunder Martial Arts Hall, the Underground Alliance Mall, and various families of the Underground Alliance waited to pick up their respective martial artists.
Since Tang Ping and his team had already sold all their monster materials at the military's Martial Artist Supply Base, they had no need to visit the HR Alliance Mall, so they boarded the Limit Martial Arts Hall's transport directly to head home.
The vehicle entered Hong City and the Oriental Residential District without being stopped.
"Beep!"
The car pulled up right in front of the Limit Pavilion. Because they had called ahead, the families of the five brothers were already gathered at the entrance, along with the Pavilion Master, Cheng Wei, and others. As for Liu Haifeng, he did not live in the Oriental Residential District and had gotten off halfway.
Tang Ping opened the door and stepped out, his eyes immediately finding his father and mother standing ahead.
He embraced his parents, feeling their joy. After all, this was his first time entering the Wilderness Zone, and they had worried incessantly. Seeing him return home safe and sound, they were naturally overjoyed.
"Our five great geniuses from the Limit Martial Arts Hall have returned safely. It's getting late, so go home and get some rest. Come back to the pavilion later and tell me all about your hunt," Pavilion Master Cheng Wei said with a smile. The group then headed home, laughing and chatting.
They celebrated at Jiang Yang's house, and by the time the festivities ended, it was already late into the night.
Back home, Tang Ping was finally able to fully relax. Since he didn't need to cultivate himself, he settled into a leisurely life of lying flat at home.
While Tang Ping had "tools" to help him cultivate, allowing him to slack off, his brothers were all training diligently.
They were busy as bees, practicing the Five Hearts Toward Heaven Cultivation Method, Guidance Techniques, and the Nine-Layered Thunder Blade.
Just like that, whether through leisure or hard work, more than a month passed quietly.
Of course, this month had not been wasted. With the help of his diligent "tools," Tang Ping had long since stepped into the ranks of Primary War Gods—and not just the entry-level kind. Furthermore, his movement and blade techniques had broken through to the Conception Level, and his Nine-Layered Thunder Blade had reached the third layer. His overall strength was now firmly at the forefront of the Primary War God level.
Tang Ping's brothers had also broken through to the peak of the Intermediate War General-level, nearing the Advanced War General-level.
As for the little fatty, Li Ze, because he was a Spirit Reader, Tang Ping had allocated him a smaller share of the rewards, so he had only just broken through to the Intermediate War General-level. However, that was only his martial artist rank; as a Spirit Reader, he was two levels higher, meaning he was now a bona fide War God-level Spirit Reader.
Restless from the inactivity and bolstered by their surging strength, the brothers met to discuss heading back into the Wilderness Zone to hunt monsters.
However, given their current strength, small counties no longer satisfied them, and they had even begun to look down on city centers.
At Tang Ping's urging, the group set their sights on City 003, known as the "Monster Paradise"—the city that had been the Magic City before the Grand Nirvana.
Tang Ping's reasoning for this was simple: he had decided to bind City Lord Luo as one of his "tools." Otherwise, with only the little fatty Li Ze as a Spirit Reader among his current tools, his progress was lagging behind his martial artist growth and wasn't providing much benefit.
With the hunting target set for City 003, it was only logical to resupply at the nearest Jiangnan Base City first. As for why they would go to Yangzhou City instead of the main urban area of Jiangnan Base City, Tang Ping already had an excuse ready.
Recalling the general timeline of Luo Feng's journey from the original story, Tang Ping quickly set a date. After agreeing with his brothers, they all returned home to prepare for departure.
On the morning of October 7th, Tang Ping and his group arrived early at the HR Alliance Mall in Yangzhou City.
Heh heh... that girl at the counter must be Xu Xin. She really is quite pretty; City Lord Luo has good taste.
Just as he stepped into the lobby, Tang Ping scanned the room and quickly locked eyes with a beautiful manager behind the counter. She wore a white shirt and looked like a professional, but her temperament was entirely different from the others. He chuckled to himself.
After ordering some tea and snacks, Tang Ping and his brothers found a quiet corner with a good view. He was ready to watch the drama unfold with City Lord Luo.
Not long after they sat down, Tang Ping heard the girl at the counter—presumably Xu Xin—call out, "Luo Feng."
Heh, the show is about to start. I wasn't wrong; that elegant girl is Xu Xin. Though, this City Lord Luo looks quite ordinary right now, aside from his exceptional spirit and temperament. Should I say, as expected of a Spirit Reader? In the corner of the bar, Tang Ping secretly prepared to enjoy the show.
Next, Xu Xin and Luo Feng found another corner of the bar to chat. Tang Ping didn't feel like eavesdropping, so he just waited for the main event.
Fortunately, he didn't have to wait long before the scene he was anticipating played out.
A young man wearing a black shirt and black trousers, who bore a slight resemblance to Xu Xin, emerged from the elevator. He soon noticed Xu Xin and Luo Feng in the corner.
Before long, someone at the counter called Xu Xin away, and the young man, Xu Gang, finally stood up and walked toward Luo Feng and the others.
What followed was the iconic scene Tang Ping had been waiting for—Xu Gang looking down on martial artists in every way, trying to make Luo Feng retreat in the face of difficulty (for the full version, refer to the original work).
However, Luo Feng was clearly no ordinary person and easily retorted.
Finally.
"Young Master Xu Gang, we can be considered friends, so let me give you a piece of advice... don't look down on martial artists." After saying this, Luo Feng turned to leave.
With the big show over, it was time for Tang Ping to step in.
"Haha... well said! I didn't expect that even after so much time since the Grand Nirvana, there are still idiots who can't see the situation clearly. I really don't know how your family has survived until now. In this era, martial artists are the ones who control everything. If it weren't for the fact that Pavilion Master Hong and Pavilion Master Thunder God are both too soft-hearted, all these family powers left over from the old era would have been wiped out long ago." Tang Ping laughed heartily, casually placing a hand on Luo Feng's shoulder while looking at Xu Gang with disdain.
