Setting aside how those three clones were exploring the unknown, Tang Ping's clone remaining in the city was currently using the system to review the treasure-refining levels of the various treasure-refining "tool men" he had previously bound.
It had to be said that anyone daring enough to come to Craftsman God Planet to attempt to apprentice under the Lord of Craftsman God had some real skills; none dared to make up the numbers in front of a Universe Lord.
The lowest level of treasure-refining skill among them could at least craft ordinary pseudo-heavy treasures, while over a dozen could craft actual heavy treasures. The strongest among them could even craft certain specialized heavy treasures; he was also the one unanimously considered by everyone Tang Ping asked to be the most likely to be accepted as a disciple by the Lord of Craftsman God.
Without hesitation, Tang Ping directly chose to copy this treasure-refining genius's skills. In an instant, a massive amount of information flooded into Tang Ping's mind, though as he was already a World Lord Level, this stream of information was a complete breeze.
In no time at all, Tang Ping had fully absorbed the memories related to treasure refining. It could be said that after a little hands-on practice to get familiar with it, he would be a genuine master of treasure refining.
However, treasure refining wasn't particularly urgent, so Tang Ping decided to play for a few days before starting. Not wanting to go out or move, he simply continued to check the skills possessed by his other tool men, intending to select a few combat skills to copy and then reinforce through study for use against enemies when he eventually went to the Outer Battlefield.
"Hmm... I can learn this Yan God Weapon operation technique. Although every form can be executed as long as one's comprehension of the laws is sufficient, the power is significantly weaker without the proper operation techniques. If I had to learn it myself, I certainly wouldn't want to, but being able to learn it just by lying flat is quite nice."
The first combat skill Tang Ping took a fancy to was the weapon technique primarily used by Luo Feng in the early stages of the original story; as long as it didn't matter much, he still wanted to keep a bit of that original-story sentiment.
Of course, Tang Ping didn't copy this skill from Luo Feng, as his little cousin hadn't even come into contact with the Yan God Weapon yet.
"Hehe... I'll choose this Yan God Weapon as my practice piece for treasure refining." He had learned the skill, but he didn't have the weapon yet. Fortunately, as a standard-issue weapon, the manufacturing method for the Yan God Weapon was quite easy to acquire, so Tang Ping decided on the spot that his first-ever treasure-refining project would be the Yan God Weapon.
"Hmm... as for movement techniques, I'll learn this Ten Thousand Thread Flow first, and this... and this... I'll learn them all. You can never have too many skills." Tang Ping placed great importance on life-saving skills, so he selected several movement techniques in succession.
"For Martial Artist close-combat skills, I'll choose these." Tang Ping then selected some high-level Martial Artist melee skills; after all, his current strength was higher as a Martial Artist, with Spirit Reader being at most a side interest.
"It seems... I've walked into a misconception?" After finishing his skill learning, Tang Ping suddenly felt something was off. "Damn it, I'm an idiot! To learn skills, I should be looking at Immortals! World Lord Level tool men are only really advantageous for helping me comprehend laws."
Tang Ping realized what problem he had overlooked. His initial treasure-refining skills were also learned from Immortals, and for combat skills, naturally, only the deathless Immortals could have stacked their skill levels to such heights.
However, combat was forbidden on Craftsman God Planet, and Tang Ping had never spent time in the circle of Immortals, so he really couldn't distinguish which Immortals were strong. As for the Immortal-level tool men he had previously bound, they were all focused on treasure refining, and their combat skill levels were merely average.
Of course, Tang Ping wasn't completely without options. He could choose to bind every Immortal he encountered one by one, unbinding them immediately if they weren't suitable. Even searching for a needle in a haystack, he could still fish out plenty of powerful skills.
However, Tang Ping clearly had no interest in that; working himself to the bone didn't fit his identity as the King of Lying Flat. He would just make do with these ordinary skills for now; they were enough for the early stages. As for the rest, there would naturally be plenty of opportunities once he reached the Outer Battlefield.
The Outer Battlefield was not Craftsman God Planet; it was a place where the strong were respected. Who was strong and whose skills were powerful—he wouldn't even need to go out of his way to ask to find out.
When that time came, he could just do this:
"Hehe... your skill is quite good, but now it's mine."
Then, while the other party was left in a daze, he would instantly master their skill and strike back with it on the spot.
Just thinking about that scene made Tang Ping's mouth curl into a grin.
The skills were temporarily learned. Tang Ping rested at his residence for a day, then spent a few more days wandering around Craftsman God Planet before finally deciding to start practicing treasure refining.
The Yan God Weapon, also known as the Huntian Yan or Nine-Layer Huntian Yan, is one of the Nine Great Divine Weapons for Spirit Reader Controllers. It was created by Shirodo, an elder of the Golden Horned Race. Its ordinary form is a dark golden long rod containing 10,081 golden needles as thin as cicada wings, each containing incredibly profound origin law secret patterns.
It is crafted by fusing the two origin laws of Gold and Space, and it is divided into nine forms.
The first form is called the 'Phantom Sword Style'.
The second form is the 'Sky Piercing Style'.
The third form is the 'Heavenly Sword Style'.
The fourth form is 'Great Skill Without Craft'.
The fifth form is 'Space Cutting'.
The sixth form is 'Self-Formed World'.
The seventh form is 'One Rod Blasts Heaven and Earth'.
The eighth form is 'Golden Sword Slashes the Void'.
The ninth form is 'Immortal Can Also Be Defeated'.
The difficulty increases significantly with each form, and the ninth form is even touted as being able to defeat Immortals. Even with Tang Ping's current level of law comprehension, he could not smoothly execute the ninth form of the Yan God Weapon. Of course, given the diligence of his tool men, it shouldn't take long before he could use it.
Being unable to execute it didn't mean he couldn't craft it. Since it could be called a standard-issue weapon, there naturally existed a simple and easy-to-follow manufacturing method. If every treasure refiner who made a Yan God Weapon had to be able to use it themselves, the price wouldn't be so cheap.
After preparing the materials and renting a decent treasure-refining room, Tang Ping finally began his first attempt at treasure refining.
Selecting materials, melting, refining, extracting, shaping, engraving secret patterns...
He proceeded steadily step by step, and finally, the last step was completed.
Appearing before Tang Ping was a dark golden rod about two meters long and fifteen centimeters in diameter.
"Hmm... in terms of form, it doesn't look any different from the description, but whether it's a success or not, I'll have to test it to find out."
"Yan God Weapon, first form: Phantom Sword Style!"
With a thought from Tang Ping, a stream of golden light flew out from the dark golden rod. It was the nine golden needles as thin as cicada wings. These nine golden needles dispersed naturally, and at the same time, the incredibly complex secret patterns on their blades began to flow with golden threads, connecting to one another.
A dreamlike golden sword, shrouded in a faint golden light, hovered in front of Tang Ping.
The entire Illusionary Golden Sword was impossible to see clearly, and a sharp aura emanated from it, causing the air in front of it to vibrate and ripple.
