"Merry Christmas, Link!"
December 24th, Christmas Eve.
Rachel raised her juice and clinked glasses with Link. For the first time, the young couple was spending Christmas together as their own little family.
Tomorrow was the Christmas Day Game. Normally, the Grizzlies should have headed to Cleveland today to prepare.
But because of the holiday, Joerger had decided to let the players spend Christmas properly at home. They would leave for Cleveland early tomorrow morning instead.
While spending the holiday at home was a good thing, it also meant the Grizzlies would have very little time to prepare tomorrow. Basically, the moment they got off the plane, they would have to head straight to Quicken Loans Arena to get ready.
You couldn't have your cake and eat it too.
Still, the chance to spend Christmas with their families made it all worthwhile.
The Grizzlies had played in the Christmas Day Games nearly every year over the past few seasons. Their attendance rate was even higher than that of the Los Angeles Lakers!
For Grizzlies players, spending Christmas at home had practically been a luxury.
Now that they finally had the chance this year, the players were more than happy to take it.
Link was just as delighted, not only because he could enjoy Christmas Eve in peace, but because this was his first Christmas with the little family he had built himself.
Though that little family currently consisted of only Link and Rachel, it already felt lively enough.
"Here, this is your Christmas present." After finishing his juice, Link handed Rachel a small gift box.
Rachel eagerly unwrapped it, only to find that what was inside the tiny box was anything but small.
Inside the box was a car key!
Rachel covered her mouth in astonishment.
"Link, you really bought it?"
