The Grizzlies' first possession of the second quarter ended in failure.
Derrick Rose drove into the paint, leaned into Bradley as he forced his way to the basket, only to collide head-on with Anthony Davis, who had rotated over to help.
In the end, Rose crashed hard out of bounds, and the ball naturally failed to go in.
The moment Rose fell, everyone's heart clenched, afraid that this former No. 1 pick, who had fought so hard to rise from the ashes, would once again fall into the hell of injuries.
Fortunately, Rose got back up immediately. He was not hurt.
But this defensive possession also showed that the Lakers truly had no intention of leaving the Grizzlies any openings.
Not only would they show no mercy to this Grizzlies lineup, they would go all out against them!
Pulling away as soon as possible was the Lakers' goal now.
After successfully stopping Rose's layup, Anthony Davis launched a fast break with a long pass from the backcourt. The Lakers attacked very aggressively.
James caught the ball near the half-court line, and Iguodala immediately pressed up on him.
But James had no intention of forcing the issue against Iguodala. After catching the pass, he immediately moved the ball again, targeting Kyle Kuzma, who had already cut toward the basket from the other side!
Kuzma might not have been much of a defender, but there was no questioning his scoring ability.
Although Kuzma's scoring average had fallen to a career low this season, one had to remember that he could not even get 25 minutes per game this year.
His drop in scoring was understandable.
Kuzma caught the ball and had already shaken off Markieff Morris. All that remained was to attack the rim!
