At six-thirty in the morning, before the alarm had even gone off, Link got out of bed on his own.
After all these years, his body clock had long formed a habit. Once the time came, he naturally woke up.
Link pulled open the curtains. Milwaukee was bright and sunny today, instantly making him feel energized.
A game day had officially begun. Link had experienced days like this for ten years.
But this time was especially different. Because today was Link's final day as a professional player.

After washing his face in the bathroom, Link got dressed and prepared to head to the gym.
If they had been in Memphis, Link would have gone straight to the practice facility early in the morning.
But since they were playing on the road, he did not have that kind of freedom.
By the time he reached the gym, Dillon Brooks was already sweating profusely.
The moment Brooks saw Link, he immediately stopped what he was doing.

"Nothing... it's just... today's the last game." Brooks stammered.
"Yeah, the last one. You'll have to keep working hard on your own from now on, buddy. Oh, and don't listen to Zach. During my rookie season, I wasn't the first one into the locker room to clean up every day either." Link smiled and patted Brooks on the shoulder, exposing Randolph's lie in the process.
"I actually knew Zach was messing with me. It's just... I thought if I came earliest, I could practice more with you. That's why I was always the first one here." Brooks scratched his head. "From now on, even if I come early, I won't get to see you."
