After returning to Memphis from Toronto, Link went to general manager Chris Wallace's office during his midday training break. There, he was about to sign his second 10-day contract with the Grizzlies.

Grizzlies general manager Chris Wallace looked nothing like most people imagined a general manager would. He didn't look as calculating as Popovich, nor did he have the imposing presence Larry Bird seemed to command just from his face.

Chris Wallace had a round face and a head of graying curls that looked completely untamed. He had taken over the Memphis Grizzlies in 2007, replacing the departing Logo, Jerry West. The biggest deal he had made so far was handing Paul Gasol over to the Lakers.
