Where is Link?

The All-Star Game had barely ended when Link bombarded the fans so hard their scalps went numb.

Madison Square Garden had been massacred, which ordinarily would not have surprised anyone. After all, the Knicks got massacred a few times every season.

But what Link did last night was simply too "thorough."

He became the first player to record a 50-plus-point triple-double at Madison Square Garden, and the first player to post two 50-plus-point triple-doubles in a single season.

Link shattered two historical records in one fell swoop, leaving people in awe.

The last player to produce such godlike performances in his fourth season was Larry Bird. And after Bird? No one—not even LeBron James had been this explosive.

The buzz from the Slam Dunk Contest had not even faded when Link launched himself into another wave of hype.

At the start of the season, when ESPN ranked Link first on its list of the league's top 50 stars for the new season, he faced plenty of doubts.

But now, when ESPN placed Link atop its MVP rankings, hardly anyone objected.

Based on Link's current play, he truly deserved such an honor. Even if they handed him the MVP trophy right now, few people would complain.

After all, while putting up absurd individual performances, the Grizzlies had already reached 49 wins this season!

One more victory, and the Grizzlies would claim their fiftieth win of the season.

Fifty wins meant that even in the fiercely competitive Western Conference, they had enough to secure a playoff berth. As long as the Grizzlies won their next game, even if they failed to win another game over the following two months, they would still hold a playoff spot.

Locking up a playoff berth so early, right after the All-Star Game, had never happened before.
