After facing the Charlotte Bobcats, Lakers, and Clippers, the Grizzlies finally met the three-game-winning Thunder at a crossroads of fate.

This final regular-season matchup between the Thunder and Grizzlies was also seen as the ultimate preview of the Western Conference Finals.

Durant was naturally full of confidence, not only because he had played brilliantly over the last three games, but also because the Grizzlies had actually lost their previous game to the Clippers—a team the Thunder had crushed.

The Clippers had been in excellent form over those two games, but the Thunder won while the Grizzlies failed to pull through. That undoubtedly made Durant even more confident.
