People had gotten so used to seeing James with a headband that when he suddenly took it off, it somewhat overturned the fixed image they had of him.
James was actually a little flustered. His angry toss of the headband was less about intimidating his opponent and more about psyching himself up.
He couldn't believe that after such a grueling quarter, Link still had energy left in the tank.
A midair switch-hand dunk required not only coordination with both hands, but also tremendous hang time.
And hang time required sufficient stamina to support it.
If a player didn't even have the strength to jump, how could he possibly hang in the air?
So Link's switch-hand slam just now proved that he still had plenty of energy. At the very least, he was still far from his limit.
In James's expectations, Link should have been exhausted and frail by now. Seeing him remain so powerful naturally came as a shock.
