Green and Bogut had both been enraged by Link. More precisely, Link had gotten under their skin long before the game even started.
But what Link had just done pushed their anger past its final threshold, causing it to erupt completely.
The Warriors' two big men hated nothing more than seeing someone show off in front of them. It had always been them throwing their weight around in front of others; Link might have been the first player to dare act so tough in front of them.
And from the start of the season until now, Link had shown no intention of reining himself in.
That gesture Link made toward the arena's big screen just now was an enormous humiliation for Green and Bogut.
Before the game, those two had been the fiercest in their war of words with Link. Green had even declared that he would let Link experience the Warriors' defensive intensity.
Yet now, Link was unstoppable on the court, playing with effortless ease.
Wasn't that the same as slapping them across the face in front of the whole world?
Green and Bogut's defense had clearly done nothing. It was a far cry from all the tough talk they had made before the game.
Green and Bogut were losing face badly. They knew that if Link kept humiliating them like this, they would become the textbook example of people who were all talk and no action.
Obviously, neither Green nor Bogut wanted that label. They exchanged a glance, then silently nodded.
For the rest of the game, they would make Link pay a painful price every time he dared step into the paint!
They intended to restore their pride the way villains did.
But Green and Bogut had forgotten one thing: they wanted to deal with Link, but
