But he had spent so long grinding the Blood Demon down that the Blood Demon's blood had flowed out of the cave and formed a stream in Boulder Valley. He had delved too deeply into the source of the Blood Demon!
Daring to let his guard down and deal with another enemy at a time like this immediately brought the backlash upon him.
The blood snake that had burrowed into the back of his head also carried the power of Life Blood. The moment it burrowed in, it began to erode his soul and fight him for control of his body.
Blood streaming from his seven orifices was a sign that the tables had turned and the intruder was taking control.
The Diviner had been robbed of his stone altar by Yu Beidou, then had it destroyed by the Blood Demon, and had suffered terrible abuse. At last, an opportunity had come.
As he pulled the stone altar back, the five fingers of his left hand, already forcibly broken, snapped off and fell.
The five fingers dropped straight down like five throwing knives, piercing the ground. They sank only as far as the first knuckle before stopping, blocked by the Blood-Sacrifice Life-Locking Array formed by forty-nine stone pillars.
But stopping there was enough.
