Heaven's will had always been difficult to fathom; all the more so were the sorrows of human hearts, aged and hard to voice!
It sounded simple enough to make an enemy of heaven's will, but to truly stand in opposition to it was fraught with a thousand hardships and ten thousand difficulties.
Do not be fooled by the many mad scholars throughout history, each one brimming with boundless ambition. This one wanted to turn heaven and earth upside down; that one wanted to patrol the skies. It seemed that unless one held some grand aspiration in life, unless one destroyed some "heaven," one could not be called a hero.
But from ancient times to the present, how many had truly overcome this so-called heaven's will?
Even Yu Beidou, a True Lord of divination, supposedly the highest achiever on the path of fate divination, the Current Era True Lord with the foremost calculating power, a terrifying being capable of briefly leading people beyond the River of Fate, could only say—
"Time and fortune; fate cannot be defied."
He could only say—"This is not my era."
How many heroes and great men had battled heaven all their lives, battled their fellow men, trekked millions upon millions of miles, only to reach decrepit old age and look back upon their lives, realizing that they had never escaped the path of fate.
Only then did they sigh: "Human strength has its limits; heaven's will cannot be known!"
They all spoke of heaven's will, heaven's will—but what exactly was heaven's will?
Even after the world of cultivation had developed for so many years, it still could not be described in concrete terms.
Too many great beings throughout history had attempted to interpret heaven's will, yet each explanation was no more than one facet of it.
