Long ago, when the Demon Tide brought the world to ruin, the World-Honored One walked barefoot across the wasteland, saving all living beings.
Nothing more than a robe of coarse cloth and a bamboo hat.
Like a beam of heavenly light shining into the wasteland, He saved countless lives and soothed innumerable terrified souls.
During those difficult years, the World-Honored One Himself had also been confused, lost, and searching.
According to Buddhist scriptures, at the height of that time, three thousand followers walked with Him. At the lowest point, only one remained.
The one who remained was Wenshu, known as "Unsurpassed in Wisdom."
Wenshu's unwavering devotion to the World-Honored One was called in the Buddhist sutras "Three Thousand Kalpas Extinguished, One Lifetime's Bond Born." Only after this did Samantabhadra arrive.
Samantabhadra upheld the virtues of principle and practice. He systematically organized the World-Honored One's scriptures and teachings, established Mahayana Buddhism, and helped construct the supreme Pure Land.
But it was only with Wenshu—embodying the virtues of wisdom and righteousness—at His side that the earliest embryonic form of the Pure Land was born amid spiritual radiance.
After an immeasurable passage of years, Wenshu had actually beheld that revered countenance again!

His boundless fury and infinite grievance all turned into sorrowful cries.
