The Ding Wei Region was vast. They had narrowed their search to the stretch between Ding Wei Floating Island and the Boundary River, but even that still covered a great deal of ground.
In the Ding Wei Region, two points that seemed fairly close often had no straight route between them. Directions were jumbled and reversed, and paths twisted and doubled back.
Jiang Wang had only managed to find his way here thanks to the Finger Map.
As he waited in silence, unease gnawed at him. The Sea Race army had surrounded the island, and their attacks were fierce. He had no idea how much longer Ding Wei Floating Island could hold out.

After waiting another full quarter of an hour, Jiang Wang finally stopped retreating. The "mesh openings" had widened enough for him to slip through.
He had chosen his motionless position after carefully analyzing and calculating what he saw through the Red Makeup Mirror. It was right in the path of one of the "mesh openings" in the Sea Race formation as it swept toward him.
As long as he stayed still, the Sea Race formation would naturally pass him by.
Draped in his Hidden Cloak, he hovered in midair, seeming almost to have become part of the Lost Realm.
