Background
Jiang Wang began as a beggar with no cultivation or secure future. After finding Zuo Guanglie's remains, he buried Zuo Guanglie and the beggars killed in the explosion, consumed a Vein-Opening Pill, and discovered the Void Key that connected him to the Great Void Illusion Realm. The True Insight Ruins Blessed Land, its merit income, and its monthly challenges became the foundation of his early cultivation. 2
He trained at Maple Forest City's Daoist Academy under Dong A, forming close ties with Zhao Rucheng, Li Jianqiu, Zhang Linchuan, and Fang Heling. During this period, he established his sword-based combat style, cultivated the Purple Qi Comes from the East Sword Art, and gradually supplemented it with Fire- and Wood-element Dao arts. 14 66 69
After leaving Zhuang, Jiang Wang had no sect, master, or inherited cultivation system to rely on. He built his path through the Great Void Illusion Realm, difficult battles, advice from allies, and techniques acquired or developed along the way. His rise in Qi began with Green Sheep Town, Chongxuan Sheng's support, the forging of Longing, and victories over renowned peers such as Jiang Wuyong, Wang Yiwu, and Lei Zhangan. 187 192 534 543
His reputation expanded beyond Qi after he won the Yellow River Assembly, survived the Soul-Severing Gorge battle against four Human Demons, and became known as the strongest Inner Palace cultivator in history. He later earned the title Marquis of Wu'an through the Qi-Xia War, but ultimately surrendered his title, office, and fief to leave Qi and pursue his own path. 1346 1360 1970
As his power grew, Jiang Wang became involved in conflicts spanning the Human Race, Demon Realm, Great Void Illusion Realm, and the histories of multiple states. He later founded Chao Wendao Heavenly Palace to share cultivation methods and personally guide seekers of the Dao. 2406 2441
Appearance
Jiang Wang is a tall, upright young man with refined but firm features, clear eyes, and an unassuming yet distinctly lofty bearing. 992
- Usually wears simple robes and carries a sword at his waist. 199
- Has long, dark hair tied with a ribbon in later appearances. 1195
- Once had white hair after suffering a loss of lifespan; it later returned to black. 411
- Often projects composure rather than overt intimidation, even when facing powerful figures. 1065
Personality
Jiang Wang is intensely diligent and self-disciplined. He treats cultivation as a constant practice, using spare moments to circulate his cultivation, study, train, or review his own battles. His growth was built less on a fixed inheritance than on relentless effort, practical reflection, and the willingness to seek instruction from others. 534 1149 1630
He is guided by faith, sincerity, benevolence, and martial valor—principles he explicitly established for himself, while recognizing that they can also become restraints. He values justice and ordinary lives, as shown when he crippled Ge Heng for abusing maidservants and when he refused political bargains that crossed his personal bottom line. 217 802 1556
Although he is capable of ruthlessness in battle, Jiang Wang is not indiscriminately cruel. He has spared enemies when it served justice or mercy, repaid life-saving grace despite personal risk, and repeatedly refused to let power or expedience decide what is right. His views became more nuanced over time: he no longer assumes every person has the same choices or standards he does. 225 522 1483 2200
