The Zhao family's main gate.
Two red doors, a pair of stone lions crouching before them, eight house guards standing on either side, blades at their waists.
The strongest among them was a Martial Artist, sixth rank.
Lin Feng walked over from across the street.
One man.
One blade.
No disguise, no cloak—he swaggered straight toward the Zhao family's gate.
The guards saw him and furrowed their brows at first.
Whose young brat was this, wandering around the Zhao entrance with a blade in hand?
"Halt! This is Zhao family ground—no outsiders allowed near!"
Lin Feng didn't stop.
Two guards drew their blades and charged.
Mountain Splitter swept horizontally.
A gale wind lashed out, sending both guards—blades and all—flying. They smashed into the stone lions and died on the spot.
[Steel of the Blade: 499/500]
The remaining six guards stood frozen in terror.
One quick-witted guard spun around and bolted for the door, shouting as he ran.
"Someone's storming the gate! Someone's storming the gate!"
Lin Feng kicked the doors open.
Both panels snapped from their hinges and flew several meters in opposite directions, kicking up a cloud of dust across the courtyard.
The Zhao family's front yard was spacious.
Rockeries, flowing water, flower beds, stone paths—exquisite.
But Lin Feng had no mood for sightseeing. He had only one thought.
Kill.
A crowd poured out from the side rooms and side gates.
Over twenty Martial Artists, over a dozen Martial Masters.
At the head of the Zhao family's house guards was a Martial Master, seventh rank, his face a mass of scarred flesh. He hefted a thick-backed chopping blade and charged with a roar.
"Who the hell are you?"
Lin Feng's answer was a single slash.
The gale wind of Mountain-Breaking Slash tore along the stone path, slicing the five men in front clean through.
The scarred man's chopping blade was still raised mid-swing when the gale wind pierced straight through him.
[Steel of the Blade: 500/500! Ultimate Stage Activated!]
[Every strike is a critical hit! Power equivalent to a full-force strike from the peak of a major realm higher! No cooldown!]
Five hundred layers.
Maxed out.
The Mountain Splitter in Lin Feng's hand let out a hum. The Dark Gold Spirit Pattern on the entire blade lit up, and a visible golden aura surfaced over the blade's body.
He gripped the blade, feeling the terrifying power stacked at the edge with crystal clarity.
Every strike a critical hit.
Each slash equal to a full-force blow from a Martial King, second rank.
No cooldown.
The others saw this and froze for a full second.
One second was enough.
Lin Feng plunged into the crowd.
Mountain Splitter swung left and right, each strike carrying penetration and critical effects. Martial Masters couldn't block it.
A Martial Master, fourth rank, raised a shield to defend.
Shield shattered.
Man shattered.
Another Martial Master, sixth rank, ambushed from the side, slashing at Lin Feng's lower back.
Lost Trace Step—he sidestepped, spun, and drove his blade in reverse from under the man's armpit, punching out through his shoulder.
A dozen seconds later, the front courtyard was littered with bodies.
Lin Feng strode toward the Zhao family's middle courtyard.
The screams from the courtyard had already roused the entire Zhao estate.
On the covered walkway of the middle courtyard, a gaunt old man stood with his hands behind his back.
Zhao Kun.
Second Elder of the Zhao Family.
Martial Ancestor level.
The same one who had been driven back by Li Zhenguo at the Sixth Defense Line last time.
He stared at Lin Feng walking over from the front courtyard and recognized that face.
"It's you."
Zhao Kun's voice was heavy.
"Second Elder, long time no see." Lin Feng slung Mountain Splitter over his shoulder, blood trickling down the blade.
Zhao Kun swept a glance over the corpses in the front courtyard, his temples twitching.
"Zhao Wei is dead. You did this?"
"Bingo."
Zhao Kun's fists clenched tight.
Zhao Wei was his personal junior brother.
"You, a Sergeant Major from the Northern Territory, come to Qing Prefecture to massacre my Zhao family? Have you lost your mind?"
"You came for me first." Lin Feng didn't stop walking, step by step advancing toward Zhao Kun. "Debt collectors, investigators, assassins—one wave after another. I got tired of dealing with them, so I just came straight to your door."
Zhao Kun suddenly retreated three steps in a burst, shoving both palms forward.
Martial Ancestor-level blood and qi condensed into substance, forming a semi-transparent wall of force that crushed toward Lin Feng.
Lin Feng didn't dodge.
He cleaved Mountain Splitter straight down.
The Gale Wind tore through the qi wall, the remaining momentum undiminished, blasting toward Zhao Kun.
Zhao Kun's face changed drastically. He sidestepped the main force of the Gale Wind, but his sleeve was sheared off by the residual wave, and a half-foot-long bloody gash appeared on his arm.
"Martial Ancestor? When did you..."
He didn't finish his sentence.
Twelve Dark Blade Flying Daggers shot out from Lin Feng's cloth pouch.
Controlled by telekinesis, from twelve directions, they simultaneously sealed off all of Zhao Kun's escape routes.
Zhao Kun desperately swung his palms, knocking two away.
The third embedded itself in his thigh.
The fourth pierced through his left shoulder.
Lin Feng was already right in front of him.
Mountain Splitter swept upward from below.
Zhao Kun's body stiffened for an instant.
The bloodline from his abdomen to his throat split open.
The Second Elder of the Zhao Family's eyeballs bulged, his lips still moving.
Then his entire body toppled backward, crashing into the walkway railing, snapping two of its bars.
[Kill target: Zhao Kun (Martial Ancestor, Second Stage)]
"Good."
Lin Feng retrieved his flying daggers and headed toward the Zhao family's rear courtyard.
The Zhao family's treasure vault was underground in the back courtyard. He found the key on Zhao Kun's body.
The basement door was reinforced with alloy, over ten centimeters thick.
Lin Feng didn't use the key.
He cleaved the door open with one slash.
Inside the vault, goods were piled high and full.
Crates of Magic Cores.
D-Rank and C-Rank were both present, but the most eye-catching was a locked iron box in the corner. Opening it revealed three dark-gold Magic Cores, each larger than a fist.
B-Rank Magic Cores.
One was worth at least two million.
The shelves beside him were lined with various pills.
Body Tempering Pills, Energy Recovery Pills, and Foundation Establishment Pills were all available in full variety and astonishing quantities.
There were over a dozen boxes of Body Tempering Pills alone.
On the weapon rack hung more than ten long blades and swords, their grades ranging from D-Rank to B-Rank.
In the innermost safe, a thick stack of bank deposit slips and contract documents was locked away.
Lin Feng stuffed everything he could carry into the Storage Bag he had seized from the Zhao Family.
Magic Cores, pills, valuable weapons, bank deposit slips—not a single item was left behind.
Just as he finished moving the last box of Magic Cores, he heard footsteps from above.
Heavy and slow.
Carrying a pressure that made the very air feel stagnant.
Lin Feng jerked his head up—a figure had already appeared behind him.
