The recruits watching below fell into a deathly, fearful silence.
They all knew Zhan Feng was terrifying, but only now, seeing him with their own eyes, did they understand just how absurdly strong he was.
Barely half an hour ago, Jiang Yue had been the fearsome fighter who breezed through his arena defense without breaking a sweat, defeating more than a dozen skilled opponents in a row. He was the last person many recruits wanted to face in the rankings.
Yet now, that seemingly unfathomable Jiang Yue looked utterly battered before Zhan Feng. He did not even have a chance to fight back.
"It's over."
In the Main Control Room above the arena, head instructor One-Eye watched the blood-soaked Jiang Yue on the holographic screen. At last, he sighed and said coldly, "It's still too early for a Quasi-Martial Artist to face an opponent at the Skin Tempering Realm."
"No matter how close his technique is to the Perfection Realm, it can't make up for such an overwhelming gap in raw power."
Beside him, chief examiner Iron Wrist nodded grimly. His dark red mechanical fingers tapped the table. "Three more moves at most. After taking this many heavy blows, Jiang Yue's stamina and defenses will collapse completely. This match is decided."
On the arena floor, Zhan Feng stopped his relentless assault.
He shook the blood from his fist and looked at Jiang Yue, whose face was half-covered in blood and whose chest heaved with every breath.
Zhan Feng gave a savage grin.
His beastlike instincts had caught the change: the head wound and concussion had fatally slowed Jiang Yue's reactions and movement.
The prey was ready to be torn apart.
"You've got a hard head, surviving this many hits. But it's time to end this."
