Power Progression
| Period / Chapter | Development |
|---|---|
| Seven Sects era | Established itself as one of Qingyang Prefecture's Seven Sects, with Grandmaster-level protection under Supreme Elder Gu Changqing. 78 386 |
| Seven Sects Competition | Its new disciples won first place in the annual competition, securing the greatest share of Earth Heart Stone Milk and markedly raising the sect's prestige. 154 156 |
| Conflict with Nether Pavilion | Demonstrated its preparedness and regional control by repelling simultaneous attacks on six sect properties. 410 |

| East Foothills expansion | Destroyed the comparable top-tier Thunderlight Pavilion and began taking over its properties, prompting five East Foothills Prefecture powers to jointly pressure the sect. 698 |
| Nether Pavilion settlement | Forced its long-standing rival to offer half its assets and three Mid-Grade Heavenly Treasures in exchange for peace. 709 712 |
| Martial inheritance enrichment | Fang Han's submission of the Great Void Wind God Sword added a Middle-Grade Artistic Conception sword art to an inheritance previously limited to Low-Grade Artistic Conception Grandmaster arts. 479 482 |

| Profound Heaven Sect crisis | The rise and expansion of a Great Grandmaster-backed enemy exposed the sect's remaining limitations. Its leaders approved relocation rather than direct confrontation. 767 768 769 |
| Pursuit and survival measures | The sect survived a pursuit force containing multiple Top Grandmasters, but the threat of Great Grandmaster retaliation made collective relocation impractical. Fang Han's discovery of the enemy's demonic arts supplied a possible alternative to disbandment. 775 776 |
Position in Qingyang Prefecture
- The Azure Profound Sect is one of the seven dominant sects of Qingyang Prefecture, a region containing several hundred cities and innumerable villages. Its standing places it above the prefecture's countless lesser powers. 78
- The other Six Sects are the Lingyun Sword Sect, Tyrant Blade Sect, Vajra Temple, Nether Pavilion, Hundred Flower Valley, and Rain Listening Tower. 97
- The Seven Sects jointly control the Earth Heart Stone Milk site. Each year, their newly admitted disciples compete to determine their sects' shares of the resource. 140
- Its status rests in part on its guarded inheritance of master-level cultivation methods; such methods are stated to be exclusive to the Seven Sects within Qingyang Prefecture. 533
- Although it is a major force and has since become a two-Grandmaster sect, it remains below hegemon-class powers such as the Heavenly Origin Sect, whose influence is supported by Great Grandmaster-level experts and spans multiple prefectures. 458 589 712
- The sect's destruction of Thunderlight Pavilion and subsequent settlement with Nether Pavilion significantly altered Qingyang Prefecture's balance of power, causing the other major sects to treat it with increased caution. 712
- Tyrant Blade Sect Master Lei Pojun explicitly ordered his sect's members not to come into conflict with Azure Profound Sect, while Vajra Temple took reassurance from its lack of longstanding hostility with the strengthened sect. 712
- The Profound Heaven Sect's emergence as an Overlord-Level Faction in West Ridge Prefecture created a threat beyond the sect's regional deterrence. After that faction conquered Nanchuan Prefecture, Azure Profound Sect's leaders chose to leave rather than risk a direct confrontation. 768 769

| Secret arts collection | As of Fang Han's inquiry to Elder Mo, the sect's secret arts reached only High Grade, leaving it unable to provide the top-tier tracking and breath-concealment techniques he sought. 488 |
Recruitment and Disciple Development
- The sect opens recruitment on the second day of the second lunar month. Candidates who reach the Inner Qi Realm before age eighteen have strong prospects of passing the Beginner-stage assessment. 78
- Recruitment is highly selective: several thousand talented youths may attend an assessment, while the sect recruits only one hundred disciples at a time. 88
- Newly admitted disciples receive three basic benefits:
- A free mid-grade Internal Qi cultivation technique.
- Thirty sect contribution points each month.
- Monthly guidance from elders and stewards. 93
- Contribution points can be supplemented through sect missions and performance on the Martial Dao Stele; high-ranked disciples receive additional points. 93 94
- Prodigy Ranking disciples receive preferential access to sect resources, greater elder recognition, and increased authority. 131
- True disciples receive greater allowances, resources, privileges, status, and protection from the sect’s upper ranks. 225
- Fang Han became the sect’s chief senior disciple after taking first place on the General Ranking Martial Dao Stele. 455
- Following Fang Han's Grandmaster advancement and contributions, the sect elevated his treatment to the level of a Supreme Elder, issued him a Supreme Elder token, and transferred him to a grand annex in the Elder Courtyard. 709
- Martial Dao Stele rankings primarily measure attack power. This makes offensive martial techniques especially important to disciples seeking higher monthly contribution rewards. 177 207
- Sixth Grade cultivation is sufficient to qualify a member to serve as a sect deacon. 208
- Chen Tianyuan explained that the sect's special investment in Prodigy Ranking disciples concerns not only reputation and future potential, but also the ranking's connection to destiny. 255
- Advanced rewards include Minor and Major Merits, which can be exchanged for Grandmaster martial arts and valuable cultivation resources. Fang Han received six Major Merits for submitting the Great Void Wind God Sword and later spent one Major Merit on fifteen bottles of Earth Spirit Pills. 386 482 664

History
Rise in the Seven Sects Competition
The sect entered the annual competition for newly admitted disciples as a faction that had generally hovered around the middle ranks. Its new generation—including Yun Qianyue, Li Feng, and Fang Han—changed that perception. 141 156
Azure Profound Sect defeated its long-standing rival Nether Pavilion, then overcame Vajra Temple without even fielding Yun Qianyue, its highest-ranked new disciple. 148 150 It ultimately defeated Rain Listening Tower and finished first in the competition, earning the leading share of Earth Heart Stone Milk. 154 156
Conflict with Nether Pavilion
The Azure Profound Sect and Nether Pavilion have a long history of hostility, driven by conflicts over resources and interests. Clashes and deaths between their disciples and stewards were already considered common before the competition. 120 122
The rivalry escalated into attacks on sect properties. When Nether Pavilion attempted simultaneous strikes against six Azure Profound Sect holdings, the sect had prepared ambushes at every target and repelled all six groups. 410
The conflict later ended through a negotiated peace: Nether Pavilion offered compensation and promised restraint, while Azure Profound Sect accepted because prolonged fighting would weaken both sides and benefit the other sects. 452 453
Following Azure Profound Sect's later destruction of Thunderlight Pavilion and Fang Han's ascent to the Grandmaster Realm, Nether Pavilion again sought a definitive settlement out of fear that it would become the sect's next target. It offered half of its assets and three Mid-Grade Heavenly Treasures as compensation. 708 709
Azure Profound Sect accepted the offer after Gu Changqing cautioned that destroying Nether Pavilion could allow Rain Listening Tower to seize much of the resulting spoils. One of the three treasures, the Dragon Elephant Fruit, was granted to Fang Han as personal compensation for Nether Pavilion's earlier attempt on his life. 709 712
Protection of Fang Han and Covert Retaliation
Earlier in the conflict, Nether Pavilion disciple Yin Huang injured and humiliated seven Azure Profound Sect disciples in Prefecture City. Fang Han intervened and defeated him, reinforcing his role as a protector of fellow disciples. 365
After Elder Yin Wugou personally attacked and seriously wounded Fang Han, Azure Profound Sect used Yin Huang's distress message to lure the elder into an ambush and kill him. This prompted Nether Pavilion's unsuccessful six-property retaliation. The sect's response led other regional powers to restrain their elders from attacking its disciples, especially Fang Han. 409 410
The sect also carried out a covert operation against Nether Pavilion's supply purchases outside Qingyang Prefecture. Intelligence from Hundred Treasures Pavilion enabled Fang Han, Elder Jin Han, and their companions to intercept the shipment in East Foothills Prefecture. They killed Elders Zhao Ping and Ma Yuan and more than thirty followers, seized the supplies, and removed evidence of their involvement. 432 436
Renewed Grandmaster Pressure
When Ling Wuyuan became a Grandmaster, Nether Pavilion sought to weaken Azure Profound Sect gradually by harassing its businesses rather than launching an immediate war of destruction. Chen Tianyuan answered by taking a delegation to Ling's Grandmaster Banquet and asking Fang Han to challenge him publicly, demonstrating the sect's own Grandmaster-level combat power. 663 664
The rivalry also produced a standoff over a Bodhi Blood Tree in Azure Wolf Ridge. Shen Moyan's defenders repelled an initial attack and refused to withdraw when Ling Wuyuan arrived and asserted that strength should determine possession. Chen Tianyuan asked Fang Han to reinforce them. 680
Demon-Slaying Operations
After covert investigation confirmed that multiple forces within its sphere of influence were cultivating demonic arts, the sect dispatched disciples to conduct purges. Yang Zhe's team attacked the Heavenly Eagle Gang, where Fang Han killed the gang leader Yin Li and the traitorous former Azure Profound Sect deacon Qian Yong. 249 250 251
During the same operation, four Azure Profound Sect elders surrounded the mysterious cultivator responsible for spreading the demonic techniques. The target escaped after being placed under siege, and the elders pursued him. 251
After receiving a court-issued Demon-Slaying Edict, the sect sent eight true disciples, including Fang Han, to the Prefecture City operation. The Seven Sects were assigned the dangerous Cloud Mist Mountain Range, where powerful demon creatures were concentrated. 364 366
Azure Profound Sect personnel fought alongside the other Six Sects during the campaign. Chen Wanjun led the sect’s force during the defense against demonic creatures, while Supreme Elder Gu Changqing later joined the gathered masters confronting the crisis. 380 386
Demon-creature attacks later appeared throughout Qingyang Prefecture, which Chen Tianyuan attributed to the Grandmaster-level demon creature that had escaped from the Cloud Mist Mountain Range. 482
The escaped demon had avoided the Seven Sects' Grandmasters and concealed its aura during a month-long pursuit. Chen Tianyuan therefore placed importance on Fang Han's increasingly precise tracking abilities as a possible means of locating it. 482 486
Iron River Gang Encirclement
When Fang Han reported that Iron River Gang leader Qi Zhen had cultivated demonic arts, Chen Tianyuan and the other six sect masters personally examined the corpse and confirmed the evidence. 560
The Seven Sects then launched a coordinated encirclement campaign. Azure Profound Sect’s Chen Tianyuan helped lead the decision, while Gu Changqing joined Grandmasters from Tyrant Blade Sect and Rain Listening Tower at the Iron River Gang headquarters. 561
The campaign confirmed that the Iron River Gang’s branches were broadly involved in demonic cultivation. 561
After Grandmaster-level demonic cultivator Yan Wuji escaped following an attack on Azure Profound Sect, the Seven Sects coordinated efforts to locate him. Chen Tianyuan accepted Nether Pavilion's strictly limited loan of its premier tracking art, Nether Guide, for Fang Han's use in the pursuit. 568
Before the encirclement, the Iron River Gang's coercive expansion had driven major powers to seek the Seven Sects' protection, strengthening the sects' affiliations rather than forcing universal submission to the gang. The Zhang Clan was among the forces that pledged itself to Azure Profound Sect. 550 551 553
Destruction of Thunderlight Pavilion
Azure Profound Sect destroyed Thunderlight Pavilion, a top-tier force of East Foothills Prefecture, and moved to take over its remaining properties. Fang Han assisted in the operation and received a reward from the sect valued at more than twenty million gold. 698 707
The destruction provoked Crimson Flame Sect, Iron Sword Sect, Sunset Glow Valley, Flying Cloud Fort, and Golden Saber Manor. The five powers formed an alliance to obstruct Azure Profound Sect's takeover and summoned their Grandmasters to pressure the sect at Thunderlight Pavilion's former mountain gate. 698
The hostility had earlier developed around the Ancient Ruins expedition. Thunderlight Pavilion and Crimson Flame Sect elders coveted the treasures obtained by Fang Han and attacked the returning Azure Profound Sect group. Thunderlight Pavilion subsequently sent three First Grade elders in pursuit, while Gu Changqing's intervention protected the expedition. 470 475 477 482
During the later takeover dispute, the five East Foothills powers detained supplies, prevented Azure Profound Sect disciples from entering properties, and occupied assets under claims of debts, territorial rights, or safekeeping. Their proposed five-Grandmaster coalition sought to force concessions from the sect's two Grandmasters while avoiding an outright war if possible. 698
Acquisition of the Great Void Wind God Sword
After returning from the Ancient Ruins, Fang Han voluntarily submitted the Great Void Wind God Sword to Chen Tianyuan in gratitude for the sect's support and Gu Changqing's protection. Its Middle-Grade Artistic Conception quality exceeded the Grandmaster arts previously preserved by Azure Profound Sect and the other Seven Sects. 479 482
Chen Tianyuan accepted the art on the sect's behalf and rewarded Fang Han with six Major Merits, three top-tier techniques and ten High Grade techniques for the Fang Clan, and permission to continue studying the sword art in the Library Pavilion. 482
Profound Heaven Sect Crisis and Relocation
Chen Tianyuan urgently convened Fang Han, Gu Changqing, and all five hall masters after learning that the Profound Heaven Sect in West Ridge Prefecture had become an Overlord-Level Faction. Its abrupt emergence shocked the leadership because the region was poor and the faction had previously displayed unremarkable strength. Intelligence chief Jiang Chu acknowledged that he had detected no warning signs. 767
The Profound Heaven Sect immediately destroyed West Ridge's other two leading factions. Chen Tianyuan and Gu Changqing judged its expansionist intentions clear and warned that Qingyang Prefecture, separated from West Ridge by only one prefecture, could become a target. Jiang Chu was instructed to monitor the threat closely. 768
Half a month later, the Profound Heaven Sect destroyed all four leading factions in Nanchuan Prefecture and took control of that region. Azure Profound Sect's leaders concluded that neither passive waiting nor direct resistance offered a viable solution. Chen Tianyuan proposed relocating, and Gu Changqing approved. 769
Jiang Chu suggested resource-rich Green Mountain Prefecture, but Fang Han proposed the more prosperous Central Thirty-Six Prefectures. He offered to secure a foothold wherever no Overlord-Level Faction was present. Chen Tianyuan's confirmation that Fang Han rivaled a Top Grandmaster transformed the proposal from an apparently unrealistic ambition into a plan the hall masters supported. No specific destination was selected during that meeting. 769
Pursuit, Proposed Disbandment, and Exposure of Demonic Arts
The relocation effort was endangered by a Profound Heaven Sect pursuit force containing multiple Top Grandmasters. Its attackers were defeated, and the sect's disciples suffered comparatively few casualties, though Fang Han was badly injured. Traitors within the sect were also killed during the fighting. 775
Despite surviving the attack, the leadership feared that a Great Grandmaster might personally retaliate. Moving the entire sect together toward Cloud Province would make concealment impractical. Chen Wanjun proposed dispersing the membership in small groups, while the leaders considered whether preserving the institution would endanger its people. 775
Gu Changqing ultimately ordered the sect's wealth distributed among its members so they could flee, choosing their survival over the continuation of the sect's centuries-long history. Chen Tianyuan and the hall masters initially pleaded with him to reconsider. 776
Fang Han interrupted with evidence that the Profound Heaven Sect's extraordinary growth depended on demonic arts. He had examined fallen Top Grandmasters and found traces of demonic cultivation. He proposed spreading the discovery so that other Overlord-Level Factions and the dynasty's authorities would turn their attention toward the enemy, leaving it too occupied to pursue Azure Profound Sect. 776
The news spread rapidly and disrupted the enemy's plans. Its leadership ordered accelerated demonic cultivation in anticipation of suppression, while retaining its hostility toward the fleeing sects. The revelation offered Azure Profound Sect a strategic means of survival, but did not establish that the threat had permanently ended or that the ordered disbandment had been completed. 776
Relationships
- Fang Han — True disciple, later chief senior disciple and first on the General Ranking; repeatedly rewarded by Chen Tianyuan for major contributions to the sect. After becoming a Grandmaster, he received Supreme Elder-level treatment and became one of the sect's foremost deterrents. He later offered to secure a new foothold in the Central Thirty-Six Prefectures and proposed exposing the Profound Heaven Sect's demonic arts to avert disbandment. 227 410 429 455 709 712 769 776
- Chen Tianyuan — Sect Master; favors Fang Han, awards him merits and protective treasures, and directs the sect’s strategic decisions. He proposed relocation when the Profound Heaven Sect's expansion made remaining in Qingyang Prefecture unsafe. 227 453 482 769
- Gu Changqing — Supreme Elder and Grandmaster-level protector known as the “Azure Profound Sword.” He protected the returning ancient-ruins expedition and later advised accepting Nether Pavilion's compensation. During the Profound Heaven Sect crisis, he approved relocation and eventually ordered dispersal rather than allow the membership to face likely destruction. 386 477 709 769 776
- Nether Pavilion — Long-standing rival; the sects fought over resources and suffered repeated clashes before accepting peace terms. Nether Pavilion later offered half its assets and three Mid-Grade Heavenly Treasures to preserve itself from the strengthened Azure Profound Sect. 120 410 453 709 712
- Thunderlight Pavilion — A formerly comparable top-tier East Foothills Prefecture power destroyed by Azure Profound Sect, after which the sect sought to absorb its remaining properties. 698

It supplied intelligence on Nether Pavilion's outside procurement teams, and permission to establish a branch in Azure Profound City served as repayment and a sign of deeper cooperation. 432 500 541 620
- Fang Clan — Fang Han’s clan received three top-tier and ten high-grade techniques after Fang Han handed the Great Void Wind God Sword over to the sect. 482
- Zhang Clan — A major clan that pledged itself to Azure Profound Sect for protection during the Iron River Gang's expansion. 553
- Myriad Treasures Tower — A merchant force compelled to apologize and compensate Fang Han after its young master framed him. Elder Zhou Jin defended the sect's reputation and delivered fifty million taels in compensation. 343 360
- Profound Heaven Sect — An expansionist Overlord-Level Faction whose rise prompted Azure Profound Sect to relocate. Its pursuit of the fleeing sect created a possible disbandment crisis; Fang Han uncovered and publicized its demonic cultivation as a countermeasure. 767 768 769 775 776
- Rain Listening Tower — A fellow Seven Sects power whose potential interference influenced the decision not to destroy Nether Pavilion. It later also resisted a pursuit force during the Profound Heaven Sect crisis, revealing a rare Great Grandmaster Talisman. 709 776
