Background / History

Ichinose first met Kazama In when her mother found him hungry, dirty, and alone. Her family gave him a meal and treated him with kindness despite knowing little about his past. 23 34

When Ichinose's family later suffered financial hardship after her father became ill and lost his job, Kazama secretly helped them through indirect gifts, including discount coupons, food, medicine, and fruit. He also stopped her from stealing a hair clip for her sister, bought it with his remaining money, and impressed on her that hardship did not justify crossing moral lines. 23 34

Kazama later had a steward give Ichinose a valuable bracelet bearing the Kazama Family's protection. She keeps it in a velvet pouch and only wears it on special occasions. 23

Ichinose reunites with Kazama at Advanced Nurturing High School when she intervenes in Ryuen Kakeru's provocation of Sudo Ken. She immediately recognizes him, calls him “In,” and exchanges contact information with him. 18

When Class D's students are punished for attempting to place hidden cameras in the women's changing room, she condemns their conduct but urges them to reflect, learn from the consequences, and help their class move forward rather than simply being rejected. 33

Her kindness is paired with moral resolve. She remains troubled by the possibility of hurting Chihiro, a classmate who confesses romantic feelings for her, and accepts Kazama's insistence that feelings should be addressed honestly rather than through deception. 22
