November 30, Year 70 of Konoha.
Three days remained until the Five Kage Summit.
Tsunade stood at the entrance of the Hokage's temporary office building, a small pack slung over her back. Shizune stood behind her, cradling the plump Tonton in her arms. Ninja and villagers had gathered of their own accord. No one spoke loudly, but the same words filled everyone's eyes—take care.
"Lady Tsunade, the escort team is ready." Kakashi stepped forward, with Yamato and Yamanaka Fū behind him. This was Konoha's official escort detail—Kakashi as captain, Yamato for emergency support, and Yamanaka Fū for intelligence and communications.
"Just three people?" Tsunade raised a brow.
"It's enough," Kakashi said. "More people would only attract attention. And besides—" He glanced around. "The village still needs manpower."
Tsunade nodded. She turned, her gaze sweeping across everyone present. Shikaku stood at the very front, his expression steady. The two advisors stood a little farther away; Utatane Koharu's face revealed nothing, while Mitokado Homura gave a slight nod. Danzo did not appear.
"Shikaku, I'm leaving the village to you."
"Rest assured," Shikaku said. "If anything urgent happens, I'll contact you immediately."
Tsunade looked once more at Hokage Rock in the distance. The Fourth's face was especially clear beneath the sunlight. She took a deep breath and turned away.
"Let's go."
The group of four headed toward the village entrance. The villagers parted to make way for them. Some bowed, some waved, and some softly wished them a safe journey. A little girl ran up and stuffed a wildflower into Tsunade's hand before running away with a flushed face.
Tsunade stared at the wildflower in her hand for a moment. It was an ordinary white flower, its petals still beaded with dew.
She pinned it to her pack.
