The blood-red Tailed Beast Bomb in the Ten-Tails' mouth swelled to its limit, like an evil sun sinking below the horizon, staining the entire battlefield an ominous crimson. The air warped under the Tailed Beast Bomb's heat. Rubble on the ground began to melt, and magma burst from the cracks with a bubbling boil.
Naruto gritted his teeth as golden Nine-Tails Chakra burned inside him with such intensity that it nearly consumed him from within. Kurama's voice rang out in his mind, no longer calmly analyzing the situation, but filled with a desperate resolve. "Naruto, use every last bit of Chakra on defense! If we take this attack head-on, we'll all die!"
"I know!" Naruto roared.
All nine golden tails of the Nine-Tails drew together at once, weaving an airtight spherical barrier around Naruto, Guy, Kakashi, and Killer B. Golden Chakra flowed across its surface, each layer stacking atop the last until it formed a massive shield made of nine layers of golden light.
Killer B also wrapped the Eight-Tails' remaining five tentacles around the outside of the barrier. Purple Eight-Tails Chakra intertwined with golden Nine-Tails Chakra, forming a two-colored defensive wall of gold and violet.
"Idiot, bastard! Gyuki's giving you all the Chakra he has left!" Killer B gritted out. Blood ran from the corner of his mouth, yet there was not the slightest hint of retreat in his eyes.
Kakashi stood at Naruto's side, his Sharingan fixed on the Tailed Beast Bomb as it began to leave the Ten-Tails' mouth. His mind raced through calculations—the defensive wall's energy density, the Tailed Beast Bomb's force, the blast radius, possible blind spots. But he soon abandoned the calculations, because every number pointed to the same conclusion: they could not stop it.
But he did not say it aloud.
