Boom!
Surging Fire Element Particles collided with one another, producing a shocking explosion. The powerful blast shattered the door and windows and cracked the walls.
The moment Moxi sensed something was wrong, he decisively activated the Wizardry Scroll.
As the smoke gradually dispersed, the entire room lay in ruins. Moxi leaned against the wall, his clothes scorched black. A faint Blue Light Wave circled his body; it was this that had blocked the particle energy unleashed by the Wizardry Scroll, along with its radiation.
His face was ugly beyond measure. At his feet lay Cardi "The Purple Gold Flower"'s charred corpse, burned beyond recognition; only scraps of clothing made identification possible.
How could he not realize that he had fallen prey to the other party's spiritual wizardry, causing part of what he saw to be false?
The life-saving items his family had given him were few. The Water Guardian on his person could only automatically defend against one dangerous attack, and its effect had already been exhausted.
The Blue Light Wave began to gradually fade, and the anxiety in his eyes deepened.
At least half the items inside the Wizard Artifact Bracelet had fallen into the enemy's hands.
As for his remaining methods, most were stored within the Wizard Artifact Bracelet. Through his Spiritual Power perception, he could sense that the person impersonating Cardi "The Purple Gold Flower" had not died in the wizardry explosion and surely possessed similar defensive means. The other party would never give Moxi a chance to use the Wizard Artifact Bracelet.
The words of an elder from his family echoed in his ears: in a battle between wizards, there could be no carelessness whatsoever. Be cautious, be vigilant, go all out—even a fleeting opening could decide victory or defeat.
Moxi had kept those instructions firmly in mind. He did not choose to activate the Wizard Artifact Bracelet. Instead, a Silver Gem slipped from his sleeve, clenched so tightly in his hand that sweat seeped out.
His gaze remained locked on the figure emerging from the smoke.
Buzz! Buzz!
A crimson Particle Energy Shield radiated a blinding light, making Moxi narrow his eyes instinctively.
The black Wizard Robe bore not the slightest damage. Gray boots, black hair, a handsome face, and indifferent eyes met Moxi's gaze.
"You're... Wang Ya-Harak." The mark of the tear mole was too obvious. Moxi recognized him at a glance, his tone filled with intense shock.
These powerful Particle Energy Fluctuations made it obvious that he had mastered this wizardry, and his attainments were far from shallow.
But how was that possible? From the information he had received from Anna, this fellow had chosen Supernatural Nurturing Wizardry, and that Nurtured Creature had not changed at all. If he possessed such mastery in wizardry, why had he not entered Umbral Wizard Academy directly? Why was he still staying at Ancient Forest Mountain?
Moxi could not understand it. He stared at Wang Ya in terror, a guess forming in his heart. Perhaps Number Two had been directly killed by this man—he had hidden himself even deeper!
The current situation was extremely unfavorable to him. He was trapped in passivity. He had to seize back the rhythm of the battle and create an opportunity to use the Wizard Artifact Bracelet.
Wang Ya said nothing, still maintaining the slightly dimmed Particle Energy Shield.
His Spiritual Power should have been somewhat weaker than the other party's. The Sensory Deprivation Wizardry had still failed at the very end.
Still, gaining a special wizard artifact and a Wizardry Scroll was not bad. Quite a few of the other party's hidden methods had been exposed, and the rhythm of the battle was in his hands.
The Blue Light Wave was weakening. Under the Eye of Truth's observation, it would disappear completely in ten seconds at most.
Beneath his sleeve, particle energy gathered in his hand. Blazing sparks bloomed within it as the Fearful Flame Wizardry took shape. The flickering seed of flame contained terrifying power beneath the minute control of his Spiritual Power.
Wang Ya never underestimated any opponent or enemy. Especially not freshmen backed by enormous Wizard Families; the teachings and knowledge they had received since childhood were utterly different from those of the freshmen from the Island Continent.
Anna had been unexpectedly weak, but Moxi Bailin would certainly not be weak. He had only taken down Cardi "The Purple Gold Flower" by using Sensory Deprivation Wizardry, reducing the environmental impact of the Freshman Residence to the lowest possible level.
This wizardry consumed primarily Spiritual Power, and Cardi "The Purple Gold Flower"'s Spiritual Power was inferior to his.
The particle energy in his body could still support the release of one Energy Particle Wizardry. He needed to reserve one opportunity to cast wizardry in order to protect himself.
He excluded the Scarlet Heat Wizardry, which leaned toward boosting physical constitution. If he could avoid close combat, he would. So long as the opponent's physique had not undergone a qualitative transformation, one Energy Wizardry attack would reduce them to ash if it hit, ending everything once and for all.
"Wang Ya, we can talk this out. There's no need to make things so stiff. As far as I remember, I've never offended you. Don't misunderstand things on your own," Moxi said, wearing an earnest, persuasive expression.
"You're violating Ancient Forest Mountain's rules. I can help you keep Cardi's death hidden, and even—"
A vicious glint flashed in Moxi's eyes. He abruptly smashed the Silver Gem in his hand against the ground. Then he turned and ran for the door without hesitation, while simultaneously using Particle Energy Injection on the Wizard Artifact Bracelet.
A faint sigh sounded from the room behind him, carrying an indescribable meaning.
Moxi sneered inwardly. The Silver Gem could create a chaotic energy field. For at least one minute, wizardry within this area would be difficult to form and release—unless one possessed particle energy powerful enough to overwhelm this energy field.
He had seized the rhythm of the battle.
Suddenly, a blurry black shadow lunged at his face. He instinctively raised both arms to shield himself.
Intense pain erupted as claws tore through his flesh, even cracking the bones in his arms. He could not help roaring, "You damned beast!"
The entirely black crow flapped its wings and flew into the sky. It was too fast for Moxi to react.
He also remembered that the other party had chosen Nurturing Wizardry. Since Wang Ya could hide his own strength, this creature must have hidden its true stage of nurturing as well.
"Wang Ya-Harak, I'll make you pay the price! Go die!" Moxi roared in fury. Silver light glimmered from the Wizard Artifact Bracelet as two Wizardry Scrolls and a bottle of red liquid in glass appeared in his hands.
After pulling out the stopper, Moxi was just about to drink the Healing Potion when his body shuddered involuntarily. Then, in horror, he discovered that the particle energy within his body seemed no longer under his control, like a stagnant pool of dead water. Even his body could no longer move. A bone-piercing chill spread from his heart to his limbs and bones, and his blood gradually stopped flowing!
"Y-you... what did you do? Damn it, you actually fought dirty!" Moxi glared venomously at the figure walking out of the room.
The glass bottle of red liquid fell from his limp left hand toward the ground, but Wang Ya caught it in time.
"Can't let this go to waste. It's my first time coming into contact with a Wizard Potion." Wang Ya pulled the stopper from Moxi's right hand and sealed the Healing Potion again.
The Shadow Blade of Assassination appeared in his hand. A cold flash streaked through the air—one slash across the throat, then a stab through the heart.
Wang Ya had no habit of saying too much to someone about to die. What he could do was send him to his death as quickly as possible.
Even after losing all signs of life, Moxi's eyes remained fixed on Wang Ya. What they revealed was the fate that awaited a man soon to die.
"The rules are useless now. You thought too much." Wang Ya's lips moved as he tucked the two Wizardry Scrolls into his pocket.
Then his gaze fell upon the White Bracelet around Moxi's wrist. A smile curled at the corner of his mouth. The reserves of a freshman from a Wizard Family truly were extraordinarily abundant.
Cardi "The Purple Gold Flower" had already given him quite a few surprises. He believed Moxi Bailin would bring him even more.
Starting tomorrow, updates will be on a fixed schedule. (Written in advance and posted at six o'clock.) Also, the detailed outline for Volume Three has been sorted out, and I'm starting to stockpile chapters.
