The thin snowflakes were crystal clear. Light passed through them, and the intricate runes etched into them seemed to gleam.
That glimmer made the gray-white world bright and clear.
A faint smile touched the Cangming Wizard's lips. He stepped forward, and an invisible field spread from beneath his feet. Snowflakes danced across the sky, and the world moved with him.
Overwhelming cold gathered. Crack after crack rang out as layer upon layer of ice formed around him.
Only a narrow line of sight remained between them.
"I have four Wizardries: Cang Ming, Frostfall, Mirror Realm, and Source Water."
"Each has different properties and defends in a different way. If you can break through them, then I deserve to lose. It would mean I'm not your equal."
Ryan flexed his hand and rubbed his fingers together, raising their temperature slightly. Black sparks appeared. "Mirror Realm is active now."
It was a statement, not a question. He had identified the corresponding Wizardry.
Its name was the most direct expression of its effect.
"And Frostfall." Ryan held out his hand and let a snowflake touch his palm. Black, mottled patterns flowed beneath his skin. Even the faint spillover from the restrained energy was terrifying enough to make one's scalp prickle.
"Remarkable Wizardry Runes. I can see countless principles of water, frost, cold, and ice within them. You've mastered those principles and made them your power."
Hiss! Hiss!
The black sparks swelled into flames, insubstantial yet fully formed. The temperature shot up. Snowflakes began to melt, the runic patterns on them twisting until they dissolved completely.
The Cangming Wizard's expression shifted. "Your particle energy is remarkable too. I can already tell that the Wizard path and Ancient Grand Wizardry behind it will be astonishing."
"If you want to change your approach, I'll accept that
