Even digging a hole required strategy and skill.
Zhan Liu rose straight into the stratosphere. Once he had confirmed the direction, he pushed his speed to the limit and flew toward the target location.
As for whether this would cause trouble for the U.S. Military, what the hell did he care?
The Americans' aircraft could not catch him anyway. By the time they redirected their satellites to look, he would already be gone.
He flew all the way to the western North Pacific, east of the Mariana Islands near Guam. Earth's deepest trench—the Mariana Trench—was here.
Most of the waters here were over 8,000 meters deep. Its deepest point, Challenger Deep, reached 11,034 meters, making it the deepest point on Earth.
Digging a hole was delicate work. Starting from here would save nearly ten kilometers, perhaps even more, of excavation. Why not?
He was not worried that he had chosen the wrong location and would miss the baby. That baby was simply too huge to possibly overlook.
The fact that it had not been discovered even now could only mean that the baby was incredibly well-behaved, not even turning over in its sleep.
With its size, even a casual movement would be a massive earthquake. Tsunamis, volcanic eruptions, and the like would be unavoidable.
After locating the approximate position, he plummeted from the stratosphere, drilling an enormous hole through the ocean surface and heading straight for the depths of the trench.
Fortunately, this place was remote, with no ships nearby. The enormous hole lasted only a few seconds before the surrounding seawater crashed in and filled it.
Zhan Liu had now reached the Twenty-Five Heavens of Magnetic Field Rotation. Neither water pressure nor oxygen deprivation posed any threat to him.
Flying through water at supersonic speed produced far more resistance than flying through air, but that was not much of a problem for Zhan Liu.
He descended rapidly in a vertical dive. Every fish in his path was pulverized into bloody paste, leaving a pale red corridor of death behind him.
Some sharp-scented marine predators smelled the blood from far away and followed the trail downward.
At first, some creatures could still follow the scent of blood as Zhan Liu descended, but once he reached a certain depth, no predator continued down after him.
The water layer from 1,000 to 4,000 meters was called the bathypelagic zone. Not a trace of sunlight could be detected here. It was pitch-black, a Dark World. Below 4,000 meters lay the abyssal zone, where it was even darker.
At this depth, it was already practically a forbidden zone for life.
There were still occasional creatures here. Most possessed light-emitting organs to help them forage and move through the lightless darkness, while their eyes had instead degenerated.
But with no sunlight, extreme cold, and crushing water pressure, even plants struggled to survive here. Food was scarce, and the ecological chain had already been disrupted. Creatures no longer existed in groups; only sparse individuals drifted aimlessly through the waters.
Below 6,000 meters, even those scattered creatures vanished. It was quiet, dead still—no life, no sound, not even a ripple. It felt as though one had entered a realm of death. Anyone mentally fragile would likely be swallowed by the gloom and driven mad in an instant.
Zhan Liu's will was unwavering, and he was not affected in the slightest.
Though he could neither see nor hear now, that did not matter. As long as he could sense gravity, it was enough. It did not hinder his descent.
In less than a minute, he slammed headfirst into a massive rock with a BOOM, smashing a huge crater into the ground with his skull.
He had reached the bottom.
Zhan Liu braced both hands against the ground on either side and pulled his head out of the seabed like a carrot. He shook himself, used his power to blast away the mud, then began digging.
He was not about to claw away bit by bit with his hands. How long would that take?
This was ten kilometers beneath the ocean surface. He could wreak havoc however he liked without worrying about causing tsunamis or anything else. Any minor disturbance would be absorbed by the deep sea.
Zhan Liu summoned the power of the Twenty-Five Heavens of Magnetic Field Rotation and stomped heavily on the ground beneath his feet.
The ground suddenly sank. The semicircular crater he had just smashed out grew larger, while Zhan Liu's figure vanished into the seabed. In the place where he had stood appeared a pitch-black hole.
At the same time, a thunderous roar suddenly erupted from the deathly still seafloor, traveling through the water and reaching places hundreds of li away.
And the thunderous blasts came one after another without pause.
Zhan Liu did not even need to move. Inside the hole where he stood, he repeatedly stomped downward with all his strength. Every stomp sank him several more meters.
Though he tried his best to direct his power downward, some force inevitably leaked out and affected the surrounding environment.
As a result, the enormous crater around him grew larger and larger.
Under the heavy impacts, vast quantities of seawater rapidly evaporated into vapor, or were swiftly ionized and split into hydrogen and oxygen. Great masses of bubbles surged out from the deep hole where he stood.
This rapid process generated enormous heat. And once there was a temperature difference, heat transfer and liquid movement naturally followed.
This had originally been the deep sea, where ocean currents moved very slowly. But as Zhan Liu continued digging, his leaking force churned the waters around him. Those currents spread outward, driving even more water into motion.
That uneducated brute Zhan Liu had made digging a hole seem far too simple in his mind.
He had thought he only needed to keep digging downward. With his current strength, he was not capable of smashing Earth apart anyway.
What impact could there possibly be?
But every time he dug farther down, it was equivalent to striking the ground with his full strength.
The earth could withstand his attacks, but it transferred the energy into the seawater. If there were only a few attacks, the ocean could easily absorb them without any problem.
But he struck without interruption for dozens of hours. No one knew how many heavy blows he had delivered. That energy would not simply disappear into thin air; it would accumulate.
The final result was that the seawater around him absorbed all that energy, which then spread outward from him in every direction.
If that were all, it would not be too serious, because this was the depths of the ocean. By the time the energy traveled from the seafloor to the surface, it would have weakened beyond recognition.
But the problem was that this was the Marvel world. There were cities in this ocean, and unfortunately, one was not far from here.
