When Wentworth came to a stop beside Dumbledore, his first thought was that he felt a little dizzy.
Even though Wentworth had been mentally prepared, the cheers and shouts of tens of thousands of wizards all around him still made him stiffen.
"Don't be nervous, Wentworth. Remember, you're representing Hogwarts!"
Dumbledore's voice sounded in Wentworth's ear, making him want to roll his eyes.
"Headmaster Dumbledore, was this your doing too? Before long, everyone at Hogwarts will know that I came with you to watch the Quidditch World Cup final. Isn't that a bit much?"
But to Wentworth's surprise, Dumbledore denied it.
"You're mistaken, Wentworth. I'm no Seer. I had no idea about this part of the show beforehand, and I certainly didn't arrange anything in advance!"
Seeing the puzzled look on Wentworth's face, Dumbledore continued to explain:
"In fact, there's only one reason I did this. I know you're an orphan, and you've probably never watched the Quidditch World Cup in person. Most of the other Hogwarts students have been here with their parents and seen a spectacle like this for themselves."
"You're my student. If everyone else has seen this kind of thing, then one of my students should see it too!"
Dumbledore's words still left Wentworth with some questions, but they warmed his heart all the same. He hesitated no longer.
Wentworth straightened his robes, then followed the staff member toward the center of the pitch with a smile.
By now, Wentworth felt much calmer. After all, this body was only eleven years old, and surely everyone would forgive whatever he did—especially with one of the most powerful wizards in the Wizarding World standing behind him.
Watching Wentworth's retreating figure, Dumbledore had one more thought that he didn't say aloud:
*As a descendant of his, you should get
