Appearance
Morion is a handsome young man with pear-wood-colored hair, a relaxed smile, and an outwardly approachable bearing that conceals a palpable sense of danger. His expression rarely shows genuine warmth. 157
- Elegant, kind-looking features and eyes that carry a dangerous undertone 91
- Sharp, heroic facial features; phoenix eyes and bright-red pupils when posing as Marquis Roderick 171
- Commonly maintains a composed, smiling expression even under threat 157
- Uses disguises extensively, including the appearances of a town mayor, an engineer, Marquis Roderick, and Lunn 158 159 172 342
Personality
Morion is a calculating opportunist whose first instinct is to identify leverage, loopholes, and unrealized value. He approaches Shadow Worlds as economic systems to exploit, favoring contracts, resource control, deception, and outsourced labor over direct combat. 158 160 168
Despite his reputation as an unscrupulous profiteer, he has clear personal boundaries. His ethics are unconventional and highly situational, but he distinguishes himself from the Resurrection Church on fundamental matters. 248 He is deeply protective of Flora and chooses to face the dangers surrounding the Hero Festival for his sister and friends. 162 298
Morion is also highly competitive with Dekan. Their cooperation is marked by constant mutual suspicion, sarcastic criticism, and attempts to predict or sabotage one another; nevertheless, they repeatedly recognize each other as exceptionally capable partners. 157 160 178 342
Abilities & Skills
Disguise and Mimicry
Morion specializes in illusion, impersonation, and mental magic, allowing him to infiltrate institutions and manipulate opponents without open confrontation.
- [Contact Mimicry] — An Orange Epic Tier 5 Spell Card that perfectly mimics an object touched within the previous hour, including its appearance and voice; maintaining the disguise continuously consumes mana. 158
- Used the card to impersonate a mayor and engineer while investigating a town and arranging a bridge contract. 158 159
- Mimicked Marquis Roderick after touching his corpse, convincing Countess Lisilina that he was the vampire marquis returned from his seal. 171 172
- Later impersonated Lunn closely enough to fool Croix. 342
- Possesses mental magic capable of reducing hostility and has countermeasures that negate the effects of [Three-Corpse Berserk] on himself. 157
Acting and Psychological Manipulation
Morion can sustain elaborate roles under pressure and adapt his behavior to an audience’s expectations.
- Leveraged Lisilina’s reverence for Marquis Roderick to make her submit, hunt Resurrection Church investigators, and accept Dekan and Cornelia as the “Marquis’s” demon retainers. 172 173
- Used the [Fortune Mask] and accumulated local currency to reinforce the aura of authority behind his Marquis Roderick performance. 172
- Manipulated Jailer Altis through conversation, a wager, and an information advantage before Dekan reached the fourth floor of Demon Realm Prison. 242 243
- Served as an unconventional examiner for an ethics test, judging answers according to his own practical standards rather than generic morality. 248 249
Commerce, Intelligence, and Resource Management
Morion’s greatest strength is converting information and access into money, manpower, and strategic advantage.
- Operates as a skilled intelligence broker with connections inside the Resurrection Church. 93
- Publicly challenges Shadow Worlds at 7:00 AM on the first day of every even-numbered month, deliberately attracting Resurrection Cultists to match with him. 96 153
- Cleared a Hero-and-Devil-King-themed Shadow World by swindling the Hero’s party, posting bounties against Resurrection Cultists, and using the resulting chaos to force the Hero and Devil King into mutual destruction. 95
- Reframed Dekan’s plan to steal Holy Gold Coins into a legal bridge-repair business, then secured contracts, free labor, and control over the key crossing. 158 160 161
- Managed material procurement and resource planning for the northern Holy Kingdom territory, including collecting excess materials for Dekan’s engineering work. 342 343
- Compiled mortality projections and identified that the territory’s refugee crisis would cause Mission Objective 2 to fail without a new solution. 354
Support and Survival
Morion avoids direct confrontation where possible, instead using utility summons, mental interference, evasion, and allies’ power.
- Primarily summons Goblins for labor and utility rather than combat strength; his [Big Goblin] can absorb fatal damage intended for other Goblins. 164
- Used mental magic to immobilize Imperial Sword Saint Adair. 311
- Can summon the Rank 8 Epic [Nightmare Puppet], a puppet modeled after Alina that copies Morion’s magic and spiritual attributes and inherits his spells. 311
- Uses [Blood Phantom], a Tier 5 Epic Spell Card that grants three chances for ultimate evasion every ten seconds whenever evasion is possible. 286
- Functions as an evasion tank and disruption specialist, protecting allies and harassing opponents with mental magic and Goblin cards. 286
Equipment
- Fortune Mask — Purple Rare Tier 3 Equipment Card. Blocks low-tier detection; its aura strengthens with the amount of local currency held by the wearer. 172
- [Contact Mimicry] — Orange Epic Tier 5 Spell Card used for perfect physical and vocal impersonation. 158
- [Blood Phantom] — Orange Epic Tier 5 Spell Card focused on repeated ultimate evasion. 286
- [Nightmare Puppet] — Orange Epic Rank 8 summon connected to Alina’s abilities. 311
- Goblin summon cards — Morion’s usual summons, selected for labor, protection, and disruptive utility rather than raw combat power. 164
Story Role / Major Arcs
Conflict with Dekan and the Resurrection Church
Morion first enters Dekan’s orbit through Flora, his younger sister. Dekan learns that Morion stole his family’s ancestral Epic card, sold it to the Resurrection Church, used the proceeds to cure a terminally ill elf slave, and helped raid a slave trader’s base—actions that caused major unrest in Hanover Territory and made him a high-priority Resurrection Church target. 91 92 95
Although Dekan initially seeks to capture him for the Hanover family bounty or recruit him for the Happy Church, Morion’s fixed Shadow World schedule gives Dekan a way to pursue him through the Resurrection Church’s own matching attempts. 93 96
*Secret Tale of the Withered Sacred Rite*
Dekan, Cornelia, and Cat Teacher successfully match into Morion’s Tier 6 Shadow World challenge. Morion and Dekan initially meet as hostile former business partners over their dispute involving [Bandit Goblin] cards, but agree to cooperate against the Shadow World’s threats. 153 157
The pair build a bridge-repair scheme around the town mayor’s corruption. Dekan designs the bridge, while Morion secures labor, drafts contracts, manipulates the mayor through disguises, and turns the crossing into a source of funding and control. 158 159 160 161
After Marquis Roderick’s defeat, Morion impersonates the vampire to dominate Countess Lisilina. He uses the deception to make her capture Resurrection Church investigators, while Dekan handles the operational planning. 171 172 173
Morion ultimately escapes before Dekan can use him to bait Lisilina, leaving behind a letter that he will consider the proposed position of Happy Group’s Marketing Director. 178
Demon Realm Prison
Morion later appears unexpectedly in a Tier 7 Demon Realm prison, where he has turned imprisonment into an opportunity to study humans and demons with Jailer Altis while playing chess and wagering on Dekan’s arrival. 242 243
He joins Dekan, Cornelia, Croix, and Cat Teacher through the prison floors, contributing his commercial expertise during Altis’s Imperial Commerce examination and his support abilities in later battles. Although he loses the commerce test to Altis on speed, he achieves a perfect score and is recognized as exceptionally talented. 251
Morion also covertly uses [Three-Corpse Berserk] on Cornelia, causing a dangerous incident that leaves Dekan furious. He and Cat Teacher later confess to their schemes without fear of Dekan’s retaliation. 267 268 271
Hero Festival and the Resurrection Church
Morion appears at the Hero Festival despite Alina’s warning that she may be unable to protect him. He explains that he refuses to leave because of Flora and his friends. 298
During the conflict, he aids Dekan against Adair with mental magic and Alina’s [Nightmare Puppet], proving that his support capabilities can influence high-level combat despite his limited direct fighting power. 311
After Dekan departs for Devil King Tomb, he asks Morion to protect Flora and help keep Happy Group in order. Morion suspects the request is an attempt to bind him to lifelong work, but does not refuse. 316
Northern Holy Kingdom Operations
In the later northern Holy Kingdom Shadow World, Morion acts as the head of a merchant guild and is assigned to secure supplies and energy for Lunn’s territory without lowering Lunn’s trust. 341 342
He gathers materials for Dekan’s spatial-device work, assesses shortages in food and heating resources, and collaborates with Dekan on exploiting the Devil Race as a potential energy source. 342 343
Aftermath
Following the fall of the Resurrection Church, Morion returns to Hanover Territory with Alina. He prefers a stable life in the territory where he grew up rather than remaining in the Royal Capital. 430
He temporarily returns to the capital to oversee preparations for Dekan and Cornelia’s wedding, taking over the organizational work personally. 440
Relationships
- Dekan — Former victim of Morion’s [Bandit Goblin] deal; later rival, co-conspirator, and partner. Their cooperation is highly effective but defined by mutual suspicion and constant attempts to outpredict each other. 157 160 178 342
- Cornelia — Teammate and Dekan’s closest companion. Morion keeps a conspicuous distance whenever Dekan and Cornelia are together, finding their combined presence intimidating. 160 162
- Flora — Younger sister. Morion is intensely protective of her and considers her safety a decisive reason to confront danger rather than flee. 91 162 298
- Alina — Bishop of Nightmare and Morion’s “one and only” partner. She warns him away from the Hero Festival and lends him the Nightmare Puppet to protect him. 298 311
- Croix — Childhood friend and fellow young count. Morion once unknowingly involved Croix in the fallout of his elf-rescue scheme, but later works alongside him in the Beautiful Soul Squad. 153 290
- Cat Teacher — Friend and fellow schemer. They secretly read Cat Teacher’s stories together and later jointly provoke Dekan through Cornelia’s berserk incident. 175 271
- Clay — Temporary ally whose pursuit of Morion becomes a recurring problem. Morion initially treats him as an overly honest nuisance but later works with him during the Demon Realm rescue. 211 290 298
- Countess Lisilina — A vampire countess whom Morion deceives by impersonating her revered Marquis Roderick; she becomes completely submissive and emotionally attached to the false identity. 171 172 173
Trivia
- Morion’s fixed Shadow World queue time is so openly provocative that Dekan compares it to playing with his cards face up before the Resurrection Church. 96
- He is one of the few people capable of recognizing and countering Dekan’s schemes before they unfold. 178
- Morion’s performance as Marquis Roderick was convincing enough to fool Countess Lisilina despite her personal knowledge of the real vampire. 172
- The Shadow World grants Dekan and Morion the shared trait Colluding Villains, increasing Dekan’s chance of receiving official identities and Morion’s chance of receiving merchant identities when they enter the same instance. 184
- Morion considers race relative to the observer’s perspective, particularly when discussing Dekan’s fused human-demon identity. 416
