Behind Yun Leng, a disciple at the Dou Ling level glared at Xiao Li.
His eyes were full of resentment.
The First Elder was a Dou Huang expert. How could he be afraid of some little mercenary group leader?
"First Elder, he's definitely bluffing," the disciple couldn't help saying.
Yun Leng ignored him.
The disciple gritted his teeth. While Xiao Li wasn't paying attention, he darted forward and struck at Xiao Li's back with his palm.
He poured all the Dou Qi in his body into that strike.
A Dou Ling expert's full-powered attack was enough to kill an opponent of the same level.
Xiao Li didn't even turn around. He struck back with one palm. Bam!
The disciple's body flew backward and crashed heavily to the ground.
He spat out a mouthful of blood and died on the spot.
The hall fell utterly silent.
The remaining disciples stared at the corpse on the ground, their faces deathly pale. They had clearly felt the aura that burst from Xiao Li's palm just now.
Dou Wang.
He was most certainly a Dou Wang.
"He really is a Dou Wang..." one disciple said, his voice trembling.
"How could someone from the Xiao Clan be a Dou Wang?"
"That's impossible..."
The disciples exchanged stunned looks.
Yun Leng's expression changed, too. He'd still had some doubts just moments ago, thinking Xiao Li might be bluffing—or that he'd sensed wrong.
But the aura from that palm strike couldn't lie. One-Star Dou Wang.
A genuine One-Star Dou Wang.
Countless thoughts flashed through Yun Leng's mind. The Xiao Clan was only a small family. How could it have produced a Dou Wang expert?
And not just one.
Xiao Li was a Dou Wang, and so was Xiao Ding. Then there was Xiao Yan, who hadn't appeared yet. He'd killed the Fourth Elder, so his strength had to be at least that of a Dou Wang.
Three Dou Wang experts in one small family.
It made no sense.
None at all.
Unless...
Yun Leng thought of one possibility: what Xiao Li had just said was true.
A sixth-grade alchemist.
Only a sixth-grade alchemist could refine pills that let people break through directly to the Dou Wang level.
Could Xiao Yan really be a sixth-grade alchemist?
Waves crashed through Yun Leng's heart.
There had never been a fifteen-year-old sixth-grade alchemist in the entire Dou Qi Continent.
Such talent, such potential—the power behind it was simply unimaginable.
"Everyone, stop."
Yun Leng spoke in a deep voice.
The disciples looked at him, confusion filling their eyes.
"First Elder?"
"I said stop." Yun Leng's voice turned cold. "No one is to attack again."
The disciples were reluctant, but they didn't dare disobey the First Elder's order.
Yun Leng looked at Xiao Li and was about to speak when footsteps sounded outside.
Xiao Yan walked in.
He wore a black robe, his face completely expressionless.
"Third Brother," Xiao Ding said.
Xiao Yan looked at him. "Big Brother, are you hurt?"
"No." Xiao Ding shook his head.
Xiao Yan turned to Xiao Li. "What about you, Second Brother?"
"These nobodies aren't enough to hurt me," Xiao Li said.
Xiao Yan nodded, then turned to look at Yun Leng.
Yun Leng looked back at him.
So this is Xiao Yan? The one who killed the Fourth Elder? He looks like no more than a fifteen- or sixteen-year-old boy, but his eyes are frighteningly calm.
Yun Leng's heart sank.
A person like this was either truly unafraid of death or confident he had nothing to fear.
Xiao Yan was obviously the latter.
"You're Xiao Yan?" Yun Leng asked.
Xiao Yan said nothing. He just looked at him.
"I am Yun Leng, First Elder of the Misty Cloud Sect," Yun Leng said. "I've come today to ask you to come back to the Misty Cloud Sect with me."
"Ask?" Xiao Yan said coolly. "You killed people from my Desert Iron Mercenary Group, and now you're asking me to come with you?"
Yun Leng's face stiffened.
"They were the ones who attacked first," Yun Leng said.
"So what?" Xiao Yan replied.
Yun Leng furrowed his brows.
He'd meant to let things go, but Xiao Yan's attitude made him deeply uncomfortable.
"Xiao Yan, I'll give you a chance," Yun Leng said. "Come back to the Misty Cloud Sect with me and explain what happened."
"I can guarantee your life."
Xiao Yan looked at him without a word.
"Your Second Brother killed several Dou Ling experts today, but I won't pursue that either," Yun Leng said. "This matter ends here."
"Ends here?" Xiao Yan said coolly.
"That's right," Yun Leng said. "Even the matter of you killing the Fourth Elder can still be discussed."
Xiao Yan smiled.
"What are you laughing at?" Yun Leng's expression darkened.
"You think you can decide that it ends here?" Xiao Yan asked.
Yun Leng's expression changed. "What do you mean?"
"I mean, you're not leaving."
Yun Leng froze on the spot.
He hadn't expected Xiao Yan to say something like that.
"What did you say?" Yun Leng asked in disbelief.
"I said, you're not leaving," Xiao Yan replied coolly.
Yun Leng's face darkened completely.
He was the First Elder of the Misty Cloud Sect, a Dou Wang expert.
In the entire Jia Ma Empire, who would dare speak to him like that?
"Xiao Yan, don't get too arrogant," Yun Leng said coldly.
"Arrogant?" Xiao Yan said. "You brought people to storm my Desert Iron Mercenary Group and kill my people, then told me this matter ends here?"
"Which one of us is arrogant?"
Yun Leng was so choked up that he couldn't respond.
"I hadn't planned on holding you accountable," Xiao Yan said. "But since you came here, don't expect to leave."
A flash of anger crossed Yun Leng's eyes.
"Xiao Yan, who do you think you are?" Yun Leng said coldly. "I'm a Dou Wang expert. You think you can keep me here?"
"Try me," Xiao Yan said.
Yun Leng was furious.
In all his years, he'd never been humiliated like this by a boy.
"Good, good, good." Yun Leng said the word three times. "I'd like to see what makes you think you can keep me here."
Dou Qi surged within him, and a mighty aura burst forth.
The tables and chairs in the hall shook from the force.
The Misty Cloud Sect disciples hurriedly retreated, their faces pale.
The might of a Dou Wang expert was more than they could withstand.
Xiao Ding and Xiao Li felt the pressure, too, and their expressions shifted.
Xiao Yan stood perfectly still.
He looked at Yun Leng, his expression unchanged.
"Xiao Yan, I'll give you one last chance," Yun Leng said. "Come back to the Misty Cloud Sect with me, and there's still room to discuss this."
"If you refuse, I'll show you the might of a Star-Rank Dou Wang today."
Xiao Yan said coolly, "You talk too much."
Yun Leng was enraged. He struck at Xiao Yan with his palm.
A Dou Huang expert's full-powered attack came with a howling palm wind and overwhelming force.
Xiao Yan raised his hand and met it with his own palm.
Bam!
Their palms collided, and a thunderous crash rang through the hall. Several cracks split across the floor.
Yun Leng staggered back three steps, his expression changing dramatically. He raised his head and stared at Xiao Yan in shock.
This boy actually caught his palm strike and didn't move an inch. "You... what level of strength do you have?"
Xiao Yan didn't answer. He said coolly, "I told you, you're not leaving today. Why all the nonsense? Just die!"
