"We've been watching for months now, and there's not a single trace of that woman. You don't think she's already been eaten clean by those zombies, do you?"
A monitor operator, chin propped on his hand, let out a yawn as he scanned the screens with boredom.
His colleague nearby laughed at the remark: "How is that possible? If you told me she ate the zombies, I'd believe you. She's a woman who can dismantle a tank with her bare hands—what kind of zombie would have the capability to eat her?"
The woman they were referring to was, naturally, the perfect T-Virus evolution: Alice!
She had originally been an employee of the Umbrella Corporation, infected by the leaked T-Virus during an accident.
However, she did not turn into a bloodthirsty, mindless walking corpse like the other infected.
Instead, her genes fused perfectly with the T-Virus, turning her into a "god-like" existence!
Beyond possessing strength, speed, reflexes, and physique far exceeding that of a normal human, she had even gained psychic powers!
This highly unique case sparked intense interest from the Umbrella Corporation, leading them to search frantically for her whereabouts, hoping to use her for experiments to cultivate more super-humans for the company.
Once Alice learned of the Umbrella Corporation's anti-human atrocities, she naturally wouldn't let them succeed so easily.
Relying on the superior abilities granted to her by the T-Virus, she engaged in a cat-and-mouse game with the Umbrella Corporation, destroying their facilities across the globe in an attempt to thwart their evil plans.
Thus, she became the Umbrella Corporation's number one thorn in their side.
Yet, that woman was like a phantom; every time she finished destroying a facility, she would vanish, leaving the company's top brass with a massive headache.
Driven to desperation, they had finally decided to initiate the ultimate "Extinction" plan.
That was to launch a rocket loaded with concentrated virus into the atmosphere, allowing the virus to thoroughly infect every corner of the globe, sparing no survivor, all to force her out!
If they didn't find a trace of that woman by today, the rocket, already deployed and fully loaded with the virus, was ready for launch.
After chatting for a while, the monitor operator turned his head back to the screen, continuing his search for her figure without much hope.
Suddenly!
He noticed something abnormal on the feed from camera 305, located 100 kilometers away from the base!
There was supposed to be a medium-sized horde of about 1,300 zombies there.
The company had intentionally gathered them to form a wall of corpses.
The Umbrella Corporation had deployed many such zombie armies within a hundred-kilometer radius of the base, specifically to guard against an intrusion by Alice—though they hadn't spotted her yet.
If that woman wanted to get near the headquarters, she would inevitably have to pass through those zombie armies, which would certainly cause a disturbance and alert the company.
But now, the monitor operator saw that the horde on camera 305 was in chaos, and the number of zombies was visibly decreasing!
It was as if a "God's eraser" had been dropped into the horde; every zombie in its path was wiped out, leaving not even a corpse behind!
He immediately focused his attention on that monitor screen, continuously zooming in on the feed.
When the clear image on the screen presented itself, the scene caused him to freeze in his seat, his expression one of pure shock.
On the high-definition satellite feed, a humanoid creature with arm-length limbs resembling "Edward Scissorhands" was using a pair of pitch-black, clawed arms to frantically tear apart and harvest the zombies, which were fleeing in terror!
Wait... those bloodthirsty zombies were actually retreating and dodging?!
Under the claws of "Edward Scissorhands," they were being slaughtered like chaff in a gale, completely unable to fight back!
Once those zombies were shredded by the black giant claws, they melted into black-red blood orbs, which were then absorbed and devoured by those ghostly claws—which was why no corpses were left on the ground!
But the most bizarre part was that after devouring so many zombies of similar size, the creature's own size hadn't changed at all???
This completely violated the law of conservation of energy; where were those zombies being devoured to???
The group of about 1,300 zombies was now, by visual estimation, only half left. Had he eaten the other half?!
At this rate of slaughter, it was estimated that in less than ten minutes, the remaining half would be eaten clean!
"What the hell is this... could it be a new mutation of the virus???"
After a long while, the monitor operator finally snapped out of it, his expression panicked as he rushed to transmit the footage to the supervisor's office.
With such a major event occurring within his monitored sector, if he were to hide it and something went wrong, he would absolutely be unable to bear the responsibility!
Meanwhile, in the supervisor's office on their floor.
A cold man with a crew cut, wearing a black suit and sunglasses, sat in an office chair, watching the holographic projection screen in front of him, the corners of his mouth curling up involuntarily.
His name was Wesker, one of the top leaders of the Umbrella Corporation and the head of the company's security department.
Capturing Alice was his primary mission at the moment, bar none.
At the same time, he was also a successful fusion of the T-Virus, possessing strength that surpassed normal humans.
However, every time he encountered Alice, he would inevitably be defeated and killed by her.
Fortunately, he had stored a large number of clones within the company, allowing him to transmit his backed-up consciousness into a clone upon death, thereby "resurrecting."
But being defeated by that woman every time made him feel deeply humiliated, and his status and reputation within the company had plummeted as a result.
So, he had set aside all other tasks, ordering the company's monitoring satellites in outer space to search with full intensity for any trace of Alice.
Yet, months had passed, and she hadn't shown her face again, as if she had evaporated from the world, making him increasingly unable to sit still.
Even if she were dead, he had to see the body to be satisfied!
However, the footage his subordinate had just transmitted had, for the first time in a long while, piqued his interest.
This was the first time he had ever seen an infected subject of this form.
The rest of his body was no different from a normal human, yet he was capable of altering the shape of his arms at will, transforming them into a pair of terrifyingly powerful black claws!
Even for himself and Alice, who had achieved perfect fusion with the T-Virus, the effects were limited to physical enhancement; they could not alter their fundamental body structure.
The G-Virus, which did possess the ability to alter body structure, would completely transform a person into a monster and strip away their sanity, rendering them currently uncontrollable.
He wondered if this fellow still retained his own consciousness.
But what piqued Wesker's interest most was how the corpses of the zombies he killed were all absorbed and vanished, seemingly converted into nutrients for that man's body?!
Rewinding the surveillance footage further, he saw the man appear to descend from the sky, crashing into the horde of zombies, followed by the process of forming a cocoon and his arms morphing into claws.
Could this guy be someone sent by God to save humanity?
"Hmph, what a load of crap."
Wesker, who had never held any religious faith, sneered and picked up the phone on his desk, dialing the U.S.S. Umbrella secret forces patrolling near the surveillance site.
"Go and bring him to me. Remember, I want him alive."
